I was wondering if we could take the 06 5.7 ignition coil system and put it on the 05 5.7 . So we could do away with the wires that clutter up the intake manifold jut a thought.

That would be cool. I'd be interested. I suspect it's more than just replacing coils, valve covers, and wiring harness to the coils.

I checked into this a while back. You would need to change the valve covers, and coils. Also, the new type coils have a 3 pin electrical plug, and our early ones have a 2 pin plug. If someone has the 06 shop manual wiring diagram, let me know, and I could see what the difference is compared to our early type wiring. It may be something we can modify. Another problem is where to find the 3 pin plugs. In the interim, see below for what I did.
