Having completed my install of the TVandNav2Go unit, I attempted to "find" the reverse circuit at the driver console (I had posted a request for assistance several weeks ago). In the end, the only solution was suggested by a memeber here to "tap" the reverse wiring at the tail light assembly (which I ended up doing). Problem arose last week in the "failure" of that cirucit to sustain the load of the backup cam and the lights themselves (Note: I had a - 0.5 volt drop in bringing the "signal" back up to the console where the TVandNav2Go unit was installed).

The dealer "fixed" it (replaced the fuse?) and noted that I would need to find another way to tap this. So now I am back to the begininng. I would love to find the wiring diagram for the entire reverse lighting so I could wire in a relay to manage the load and still have this work correctly.

... so does anyone have the diagram (or at least the wire codes) for this circuit?

PS - Would you guys like a full "tech" faq on the install for this (how to totally integrate a DVD player with TV and Backup cam into your existing system including FM modulator for sound)?

Hi Jim
Sorry I don't know if I read this correctly. You should power up the backup camera from something like the lighter or anything that is 12V acc. This is because it takes to long for the cam to warm up. The blue wire can then be attached to the reverse lights. We have done a lot of cars like this and have never had a problem. If this is what you did the BMW cars have the same problem use a relay that will close and supply 12V to the blue wire when the car is put in reverse. P.S. Thanks for the great write up.
Thanks Dominic
