I installed and plumbed my intercooler and fit a filter on it for now till I finish the rest of the system. The heat exchanger is 24x12x1 mounted in the grill. The electric coolant pump is mounted in the lower drivers side fender area. It is currently cycling the coolant, so as of right now I have an intercooler intake:cold: Performance seems about the same as my ram air but quieter.

That's some setup.

Are you saying you aren't getting any HP gains over your other air intake?
Why all the work?
Are you planning on other mods to compliment the Intercooler install? Turbo??

Yeah this intercooler is for the turbo setup I am finishing up. The filter on the intercooler is just to hold me over.

This should chear things up

Wow, you made this setup? I know you didn't make the filter but this is your design?
I bet that 6.1 will take well to the turbo and you should have some serious fun with that car once you get it all going.

I know it probably produces more power but why not go with a much larger single turbo? Oh wait lag and what not ok

Actually A large single turbo on a big displacement motor spools up quite fast.
That is a SUPER clean setup though BTW!


I guess the only question I have is why not use a normal intercooler?

When I design turbo systems I want the least amount of system volume as possible to make it as efficeint and responsive as possible. Also liquid/Air intercoolers can be more efficient at cooling then air to air specially if I add an ice box. In my case I don't want the excess plumbing and volume by running piping into the grill to a large capacity intercooler.

Probably because it won't fit there so used a thinner core! Maybe

Oh in no way am i doubting its effectiveness. Just curious as to the reason. Looks amazing and it looks to be extremely effective. I would be interested in increasing my knowledge on this water cooled intercooler setup.


So do both turbos feed into the underhood box or do they y together somewhere.
