A few questions from a wannahave300C guy.

1. Wondering if anyone has pictures that compare and show the different interiors. I'm having trouble distinguishing between the stated colours,...
-Dk/Md Slate Gray
-Slate/Graystone
from two different dealer's websites. I think I would prefer a dark interior but haven't seen any pics. Just light gray and white.

2. I suppose it depends on how the seat is adjusted, but to what extent do each of you see the hood of the car while driving?

3. How solid and durable do you find the Tortoise Shell accents? Any of your swear by it? Or by the walnut?

4. If the car comes with the smoker's group option, is it easy to revert to non-smokers? What are the differences if any?

Last question,... II kings 9:20 mentioned a "what wax will you use" thread but searching doesn't seem to work for me. Anyone have a link or advise how to search the topic?

Edit: I found this link, would you say it accurately expressed the colour and grain? I'd go check it out myself but I'm too curious and leaving on a trip soon.

1. Slate/Graystone is (basicially) white; Slate/Graystone is a the top is the same. -Dk/Md Slate Gray is a medium grey.

There are three options:
1. Dark Grey upper trim (dash, etc) and dark (grey) leather, carpets, lower trim. (Dk/Md Slate)
2. Dark Grey upper trim (dash, etc.) and light (white) leather, carpets, lower trim. (Slate/Graystone)
3. dark green upper trim and light (white) leather, carpets, and lower trim. (this is relatively rare and only available on Cool White and Magnesium;

I have the Slate/Graystone on my Mag 300C; I like it quite a bit but it does show dirt and require a bit more maintenance than dark carpet.

2. I'm 6' tall and I see all of the hood.

3. Tortise shell seems quite durable for me, but I just got my car.

4. Smoker's package = Cigarette lighter and 2 'ash trays' that fit into the cupholder (and lift right out).

As for wax I just used Klasse All-In-One this weekend, and it's amazing. If you have time and want the best; Zaino seems to be the consensus.
http://300cforums.com/showthread.php?t=1154&highlight=waxing this thread seems to be useful.
check out autopia-carcare.com and gurureports.org for more info about waxes.
http://www.bettercarcare.com/ is also good.

As for searching;the fact you can't search for 3-letter words drives me INSANE, and makes it hard to search for wax (or MDS, or ESP, or VIN, VON, etc.)

The one complaint most have with the lighter interior, is the carpet/floor mats are too light and show dirt very easy. I like my light interior though, and prefer it over the darker int. The dash is black in both cars.
I adjust my seat up to see the hood, with the high 'belt' line, I like seeing the profile of the hood when I drive. I'm 6'0, and if I put the seat up all the way my head will hit the roof (you can put it up or as low as you want).
I like the walnut, some like the tortouise - just a matter of opinion. Go to a dealer and check out both.
Mine came with smoker's group, there are 3 ashtrays (all removed from my car in about 30 seconds) - not a big deal at all. If anyone wants my ash trays let me know.

Wax? there's another topic where everyone has a strong opinion. I have Zaino, I have Meguir's Gold and their new Tech Wax - and I'm not either impressed or dissatisfied by any of them. I think the yellow Carnuba is probably best for shine, depending on who puts it on and the color of the car. I used the Tech Wax on my C, and I would only rate it average.

Thanks for your response! I guess there's no real dark interior available then. The darkest I've seen is a light gray and the creamy colour. I guess with the smaller windows a darker interior would make things seem claustrophobic. Ahhh well. :)

Great links! I can't wait to wax and worship my C.

I guess I'd get after market or dark dealership mats if I ended up with the light interior. But I'll probably go for the darker interior, even though I don't much like the bland grey (wish it was darker) which probably doesn't go as well with the cool vanilla. Damn.

Dark slate gray / Med Slate Gray will get you black carpet and grey seats, as shown in the first pic. This is the color scheme I have on my Magnesium C and I really like the dark interior.

To be honest, I am not even sure what the second pic is. The seats look like the lighter Light Graystone, but the carpet is black. I thought the Light Graystone included the lighter carpets, and lighter/whiter seats.

The 3rd pic is Dark slate gray / Light Graystone.

The Jade and Magnesium cars also have some different interior color combinations.

I have the light grey and love it, nice and airy, will show dirt more. I got the plush dark mats with the Chrysler wing, much nicer than the mouse fur stock stuff.

I have turtle, after 2500 miles it's great, looks like sea scallops floating in Aunt Jemima syrup (C&D).

I love the view out seeing the hood like a proper S class, not like the S class 2000 on.

The what wax will you use was changed to a sticky in visual mods http://300cforums.com/showthread.php?t=1052

I believe the dark green is only available in Magnesium and Jade. Not available in cool vanilla. I have the light gray interior and while it can be difficult to keep clean is worth it in my opinion. I'm the only person in the vehicle 90% of the time so it's no big deal.

Joey, I think the second pix is a non C which gets dark carpet with light grey seats.
II Kings,
that should be a C pic, the gear shifter is a slap stick.
But I now see why the mystery. That is a Euro interior.
The speedometer goes up to 260, which I assume is kilometers.
I had that pic saved in my pics folder and didn't remember where I got it.

That could be; I was just going off of what chrysler.com's build and price said (missed the Jade).
