ok....so I have goofed off for a while and neglected to place my order for a SRT-8.

I got the fever!!!!! I have never been much of a american muscle car fan until i saw the SRT-8. WOW!

What are the chances that I can find one without some crazy mark-up on the east coast?

I have also been told that no more srt-8 will be built after July of this year due to the charger products taking production time...etc... is this true?

Anyone out there on the east coast aware of a SRT-8 that might be available?

First off no, it's a rumor. The Charger is not taking production time away from the 300 srt8.

Basic schools of though on this.

If you're willing to wait, 1-3 months possibly more, start calling dealers WITH ALLOCATION and you can get one on order or order one at sticker.

If you want it now you're looking at paying approximately $5,000 or more over sticker and you'll have to call all over to find one on the lot.

Be willing to travel no matter which choice you make.

P.S. No matter which choice you go with you will not regret buying to car....It's worth the wait, the markup (to an extent) and the traveling.

There were two at Koons Chrysler in Tysons Corner the Friday before memorial day. Maybe they are still there? They have srt option group I and II. They had one black and one silver. They had $10k mark up on the window, but they told my dad they'd take sticker (my dad had seen silver steel online the night before though and he wants that).

I just checked out Koons web site (www.koons.com) and they show 2 in stock, both black with option group 2, all season tires and sunroof.

Interesting that they don't list any additional dealer markup on their web site.

I have to go into Tysons Corner tomorrow - maybe I'll stop by...

my 2 cents on this

First, good luck (as Herb put it below) finding one at sticker. You can, but it would be tough going

Second, if you got the fever, pay for it now and then you won't be suffering fever in the hot summer when they shut down production to change over morel years

Finally, this is the baddest car I have ever driven and you can't go wrong buying it.

Just call 'em and ask for the fleet manager. Ask him what he wants. Bet he says 10 over "but we're willing to deal" if they have 2 with limited options.

Dealing is relative, I don't consider giving me a discount off of the markup you capriciously applied a deal, I guess I am supposed to say thank you thank you for letting me buy it at sticker and giving me $10K off--Puhleese. If you can get it at sticker go for it and congratulations, they should be thanking you for allowing them to sell you a car. Without all of us they have no business and they don't eat.

Considering the market demand vs. supply.

I do.

You really should drive one. ;)
