After owning my 300C for 3 months, I like it as much as ever. I thoroughly know all the niggling faults that I wish it didn't have, but then I've never had a car that I wouldn't have redesigned in some way. But what I wanted to say was, this car does NOT look like a Bentley. I saw all the current Bentleys up close at the LA show last weekend. They don't really look much like the 300C. If you haven't compared them in person, find the thread here with the magazine article with side-by-side pictures. Frankly, the 300C is a far better looking car. True, the Bentley has more money in its leather and wood than Chrysler put in the entire car, and has (of course) much better fit and finish, but from the outside, the 300C has IMHO a nicer shape. What I think is that the 300 looks like the average person's memory of what a Bentley looks like. The real thing is not as nice as a memory. We remember the first time we saw one - looooong, loooong hood driving by, eventually followed by a cabin, all regally looking down on the hoi polloi. Seeing one for real, it looks very old-fashioned, and I mean that in a bad 80's design kind of way, not a sexy classic old car kind of way.

All comments above of course refer to the sedan Bentleys, not their attempt at a sexy coupe!

I'm so tired of hearing negative comments on how the 300c is a wannabe bentley and so on. Obviously people that say that haven't seen a bentley in person because they really don't look alike. Also if I had the money to buy I bentley, I wouldn't. I'd buy a 300c and about 4 other badass cars. It's hard to shake off all the negative comments on the 300c. Most of them come for stupid ignorant ppl who know nothing about cars. Any real "Car Guy" loves the 300c. some probably wont admit it though, especially if they are a GM Buff, but deep down everytime they see it they are thinking to themselves...."Damn that's a sharp car."

those bentleys are NICE cars!!! and to be honest, i didn't see any salesmen in the chrysler booth that looked anything like to ones in the bentley booth.... seems to me bentley's hiring practices have more than just knowledge of a vehicle and sales records in mind. haha

There was a test with the 300C and some Bently in a new magazine, I think it was MPH or something like that. The 300 blew it away in everything except overall interior and ... price. So at $250,000 you would expect the Bently to beat it in the interior. You would also expect it to beat the 300 in performance and handling ect. It didn't, I would love to have a 300C and if I had to have either the rest of my life I'd take the 300C anyday. Thats not even the SRT, oh to dream, gotta finish college first then the toys will come.

who cares what ppl think. i've never thought i would hear ppl complain about there car being compared to a bentley. there one of the finest vehicles on earth.
i live in west palm and see about 10 bentleys a day, it does kinda look like one in some aspects, the main one being the big grill and the fact that its just a huge ass car.
and they tested a cheap bentley in that article. a twinturbo v12 bent will kick our ass anyday. and everyone is handmade. im sure that in the 8 hours that it takes to make a steering wheel for a bentley they made about 50 300c's.

I don't mind the comparison at all. The Bently is true class. I can't really even think about ever buying one or if I would. If I had that money I am sure there would be other things I would want. I do not like the C marketed as a hoodlum car. But you know what it is getting alot of interest from all sides.

agreed. And that is a big reason that I love the way the car looks. So in your face, so bold.
The only other car that would even have a grill that compares are the new Audis. And the V12 A8 is a mean lookin machine.

I have had plenty calling it the baby bently and cadillac. However, Car and Driver T.V. this past weekend showed the original 300c. 1957 model I think and that car had some key elements of this new generation. So if this car looks like another car it would be the original 1950's 300c.

It also has to due with the huge stately presence of the car due to the square jaw looks. True it isn't a bentley, but then again it was never meant to be. It is just a cheaper car that has a similar on road "presence" as a bentley sedan and therefore the comparisons. Take that however you will.

Personally I think the 2 cars have a similar look. I had never seen a newer model Bentley/Rolls until after placed my C order. Who really cares anyway if they look similar. It is not like there are a bunch of Bentleys/Rolls on the road. Most folks, like myself, probably have never seen a new model Bentley/Rolls.

I think it looks more like a rolls royce phantom than a Bentley......I really don't see how it looks like a bentley. I think its a spitting image of the Rolls Phantom.
