My Chrysler 300C 2006 was stolen I unknowingly dropped my keys. My car was stolen luckily
the police found it 3 days later. The battery was taken and of course the keys. I had it towed to the dealership where I bought it. I bought a new battery and they had a new key coded coting me $483.00. a week later it was stolen again. My question is if the new key had a new code would the car thief have been able to open the door and start the car with the old key? This time my car was packed full of my daughters belongings I was helping her move. She is blind and had a very expensive braille reader writer in the car that was stolen. I need to know how was it done with the old key. Genie Fox

I would suggest you contact the dealer. Did they know the car was stolen? The normal procedure is to program with the original code.
