....2006 SRT8's will actually be built this year. I'm VERY worried. I placed my order(VON) thru a LARGE moving Chrysler Dealership on Feb 17. I'll be frank w/you all, Im 15th on the waiting list. Can a qualified member please tell me if I'm sh!t out of luck? I know allocation is based on how a dealership sells their other cars and I guess I've been hopefull since this is one of the biggest moving dealierships in the nation. But am I being too hopeful since Im 15th up?

BTW: SOS(member) has been helping me also...so Thanks SOS!!

Thanks!

John

Unless Chrysler gets it act together I fear you may be SOL. I'm one of two sold orders at my dealer and I don't feel real good. I feel it's high time that many of us that have been kept in the dark about our orders start giving Chrysler our opinions, and this is a good place to do it.

To be honest if you are 15th one the list I do not see you getting that car this year if at all. For 1 dealer right now to get 15 SRT8's any time soon is not going to happen. Your best bet is to find a dealer with an open VIN that nobody has ordered.

Is there only one dealer you have access to?
Why not place an order somewhere else, and the dealer with the allocation wins your business?
OR, find one in D, ect. and be prepared to pay for it.

I ordered mine through Dave Smith. Last I heard they have sold only 2 SRT8's for being one of the largest dealers in the nation. I'm hoping most of the people on the list before me got impatient and gave up!! I agree, I'm right there with you...we won't get a car this year being that high on the list.

I doubt the dealer has allocation for 15 cars unless they're massive!

MHO, you're SOL. I'd find a dealer that has one now and pay markup (should only be ~$2000 more)

Because since you only have a VON and no price they'll charge markup IF it comes in anyway.

Bitch at them, yell, scream, get your deposit back, and find another car.

jguadiz; is that Dave Smith that you have your order with? Just curious, I know that they are one of the largest dealers.

Dennis, Do you mind me asking what number you are on the list? I know that another member from my area(Seattle) is #8 on the list. I'm not really in any hurry since Im getting married at the end of June BUT I'd like to have one by at least the end of the year.

vvv90, They are a massive dealership(Dave Smith). They supposedly are the largest moving Chrysler dealership in the nation.
Im sure I can get my deposit back but that's the least of my worries at this point.

Does anyone have a template to send to several dealers inquiring about purchasing the SRT8 ? I'm not paying a penny over MSRP(Well maybe a few hundred over-max  )

They're huge maybe, but considering what DennisG said about only selling 2 which is amazing in and of itself, I wouldn't trust them. 50 is impossible.

Earnhardt moves more 300s than anybody in Phoenix (salesman claimed the most west of the MS river, but I'm not sure about that) and they told me they are getting 3 this year, and I got #2.

I would be curious as to the number of customers who are going to give up or buy something else due to the lack of supply/info from Chrysler.

There is a limited window for any "hot" product. If you can't supply, that window will close and customers will find other solutions to their desires.

I can feel the backlash building. I know I feel it.

I went 5K over. Considering all of the ones that I shopped for went for 15-20K over here in Phoenix, I'm very satisfied with the deal. More I thought about it, it seemed fair to go over, b/c production is so slow, demand is really high, I just didn't think I would get one for MSRP for awhile.

I was #3 on a list at a large dealer in SLC behind their two "showroom" models. He ordered them in Jan, didn't get an 05 at all, and all 3 of his SRTs are still in BX. They move quite a few 300s, but it's gonna be quite awhile before they get one according to the regional rep.

To give you an idea, the dealer I went through moves about 20 300Cs a month (and a ton of Touring), and they're getting THREE SRT-8s this year, and two of them are already gone. I paid about 50, other guy went for 65 about a month ago.

I'm not sure exactly, but I'm near you on the list (low teens). I ordered back on the first week of January.

Why wait?

I had my name on countless lists. It meant only the dealer called me in for some bidding war when the car hit the showroom. I suggest you call as many 5 star dealers as you can find and ask them (1) to put you on a list, (2) what it would take the to presell you the car (which is somewhat of a joke because they can just back out when the car appears), and (3) if they have one in inventory. Depending on the response, proceed appropriately.

This car is getting huge hype and dealer "lists" are getting long. I suggest if you find one in stock on some dealer's showroom floor you buy it. Be prepared to pay over MSRP if you want it now. If you can find an honest dealer, ask them to search country wide inventory lists and they should be able to tell you where the SRT8's are. Then call. Have your cashier's check ready for a deposit.

One SoCal dealer's list I was have been on since January called me back to tell me the car I had "ordered" was in and if I wanted it I better be to the dealer within 20 minutes with my down payment. Funny, only I laughed when I told him no thanks, I already got one.
