Greetings:

Does anyone know if there is a SRT8 on a dealers floor in the South? I would love to have one but was checking to see if there is one available?

Does the SRT8 have a speed limiter like the Magnum RT has?

Thanks to all....

HA HA HA now that was funny.
seriously, I do not believe you will find one on the floor that is not sold for a while; not in the south anyways. Mine will be in Pensacola maybe in about three weeks. If you are near The Floride panhandle I can pm you just before it arrives, but you will have to be quick because it won't stay there more than three days if I have my way.
Speed limiter I believe is 155, more then enough for me.
LOL

Be prepared...

to pony up serious $$ over MSRP or to wait a long while if you don't already have an order in. You're about 4+ month behind if you want to get in line now.

The top end is supposed to be 165. Wheather that's drag limited or an electronic limit, only time will tell. And please no magazine references, they swore up and down in the press that SRT-4s were limited to 148, even after there were GPS verified runs up to and past 155, with modded ones seeing 160ish.

I bought my SRT-4 from Maroone of Pembroke Pines, they did me right. First SRT-4s in the country, sticker only, they picked me up at the airport and treated me right.

My info (DCX sources) has the U.S. SRT-8 electronically limited to 165 mph. Without a limiter, the vehicle tops out at 174 mph.

Sounds reasonable to me, since the tires are Y rated for 186, either they are allowing a margin, or maybe there's an aero reason. Imagine these suckers on the Autobahn, some Porsche cruising at 150, here's come the big American boat:) "Beep Beep":)

I know the military SRT-4 guys have been showing the flag, so to speak, now it's time for the whole range of SRT products to show it's stuff:)

And before the flames begin, I'm well aware that there's hordes of serious hardware cruising the 'bahn, my point is that most of those drivers will NOT be used to having to move right for any American 4 doors besides the SRT-4, not at speeds above 120-130. Now, in less than a year, there will be 3 of them. One of them a wagon:)

10 over MSRP sold in Southern Cal in 5 minutes

You may have seen that there are quite a few posts in other threads on this topic. (Search Ebay for one of them) California dealers are selling the SRT8s way over MSRP. I had an "order" with a dealer that left me a message yesterday to tell me the car had arrived. When I called back an hour or so later, the car had already been sold. Dealer represented that it had been sold in 5 minutes at 10t over MSRP. From my 4 months of experience searching for the car, you will need some luck. To boost your chances, only call 5 star dealers, they are the ones getting the cars now. Also, if you have a dealer in your area, walk down there and have them check inventory nationwide. They may be willing to tell you where the cars are. About 3-4 weeks ago there were only 5 SRT8s on dealer lots.

Oh, on the limiter question, I did read that one of the aftermarket chips turns it off. Otherwise, I think the 165 number is right.

FYI
Swug by the dealership with the ol'lady today so she could see an 8. It had been sold to a doctor who made >400k a yr. Sold 15k over msrp. All the 300C's were priced 5k over msrp.

Looks I'll get my Ram SRT-10 before she gets an SRT-8 :)

Nice article in current issue of Speed magazine on both SRT's. Speed is a road&track spinoff

If you are looking in the south, call Patricia Braham at Chuck Hutton Chrysler in Memphis. They have one that will be built in May for delivery June (?). It was ordered for me, but I found one last week and took delivery from another dealer. I have not spoken w/ her since then, so I'm not sure if anyone else has placed a deposit. They are very nice and upfront, and are asking MSRP only.
