Ok this is pretty cool........my wife and I get up this morning at about 10:00 to take our daughter in for her four month doctors visit. Stayed up kinda late the night before so it's taking me awhile to get going and since i'm going to the gym right after we take seperate cars. My daughter was due for her shots so when I left I was kinda bummed out by the whole ordeal ( I firmly believe that her shots hurt US way more than they hurt her.......although I'm sure she would beg to differ :eek:uch: )

After we finish, I'm off to the gym. I pull in the parking lot and start looking for a space and I see a Infinti QX56 with what had to be 38"rims chrome everywhere and just totally decked out. The space right next to it (also the space closest to the door of the gym) is open so I pull in, park and proceed to head inside. Not to often that I get the first spot so I'm thinking how cool it is.

I walk inside and scan my keycard at the desk and start to make my way to the lockers when Shaquille O'neal and his family are heading out of the gym. This is the second gym that i've belonged to that Shaq was a member of so i say hello as i walk past. He nods and says hello and we pass each other as I get ready for my workout. Just about the time I'm about to enter the locker room it dawns on me that the Infiniti is probably his ( he also has a Rolls and a Bentley that I know of) so I head back up towards the desk to see if it is his and as I look into the parking lot I can see he and his family standing right behind my SRT8.........just checking it out. Shaq circles around the car with a big grin on his face and one of the trainers I'm friends with says "damn that's another sweet ride he's got". Right then he and his family load into the Infiniti and the trainer says "I guess that's not his car. I wonder who's car it is?" I'm just standing there smiling at him when he realizes it must be mine. Then he asks me "how's it feel to have Shaq checking out your ride bro?" I smile at him and say " it feels really good."

Oh yeah and by BTW......when you stand next to him you don't feel like the same species. I'm just over 6 ft tall and i feel like a child looking up at the guy. It makes me wonder if he'd even fit in the car!!!! He is a living GIANT!!

Awesome story John! Bet that kept a smile on your face for the rest of the day! :)

Sort of tangent here - we're expecting our first in 3 weeks (!!!) - a little girl as well. I'm equal parts stoked and freaking out...can't wait either way though for my little girl! I'm a nightowl so my wife is actually digging the fact that our schedules will overlap in a way that will allow us both to at least pretend to get some sleep (I typically call it a night around 4am). Anyhow, total digression but I'm in expectant father mode right now so your story had additional impact. :)

What's your daughter's name?

Jordan Rylan and she is the love of my life. The SRT8 is actually hers........I'm just the driver   Good luck with your little girl. Your life will be upside down for a little while, but it all sorts itself out pretty quick. She started sleeping throught the night about a month ago and she'll actually sleep for just about 8 1/2 hours every night now. I hope everything goes well with you and yours!!!!!!!Congrats

Excellent story. I read a story on another forum about a guy who claims to have raced Shaq in his Ferrari 360 Modena Spyder. I realize it's the internet, but if it's true, shows he's a real enthusiest. Here it is if anyone wants to take a gander -

Oh, and congrats on the little one. I have a two year old and one on the way. Definitely life changing, but more than worth it. And I can totally relate to the shots deal. Wait until she remembers what happened 'last time' she saw that doctor. It gets interesting.

Take it easy...

trainwreck...

that is a great idea!
problem is that most of us would be over there...
jconnelly1119 - that is too funny! - The SRT8 is actually hers........I'm just the driver
I felt like that yesterday - as she is chilling out watching her Spong Bob DVD on the DVD player and me being regulated as her chaffuer...
And I don't mind at all and smile the whole time...
Great story and thanks for sharing!

went to the gym today (with my wife and daughter) and as soon as I got on the turnpike two silver cars come flying up behind me. First car was a viper and the second was a 911 4s cabriolet. My wife looks at me and says "don't even think about it!!! Not with baby girl asleep in the back seat" I pull into the slow lane and the viper pulls up next to me and the guy gives me a look. I shrug and hold up a pacifier to the window. He looks at me confused at first and then he starts laughing when he realizes what I'm trying to tell him. I'm kind of glad the girls were with me because it would NOT have been much fun trying to keep up with them. Not too often the SRT8 gets outclassed, but these guys had me beat no doubt about it. The 911 would have been intersting from a roll, but the viper would have smoked us both.

Great story...

Shaq is HUGE. I was walking downtown 2 summers ago and was right next to him...he dwarfed his body guard. I'm 6' - 240 and I couldn't believe how small I felt next to him....
