Hello all,

I have a Chrysler 300c 3.5L V6 year 2006.
The car has presented a random problem this week.

In cold situations, I start the car and select the D position. When I release the brake, the car moves slowly as usual, but it did not accelerate or moved faster. An alarm light was in the panel.

I stopped the car, switched it off and the problem was solved. The led indicating the failure went off.

I took the car to a local Jeep - Chrysler dealer in Bogota, Colombia, where I live. There are no 300c specialists here, but they think it is because of the electronic accelerator.

Have you heard of this problem before and the common solution?

Sould I wait to the problem to appear again?

Thanks,

Alejandro

Hello all again,

I've recorded a video with the sympthom, hope this helps to identify the issue.
When the car is started, the red ray light on the left blinks (flashes). Also the light on the right (yellow light : car with steering) lights fixed.

I try to accelerate the car in the P position and it can not pass 3000 RPMs, also the engine has a noise that is not normal.
Hope the video I'm loading helps.

I took a car to a local to a non-chrysler dealer (there are no chryslers in Colombia) and they said it looks like and issue with the electronic accelerator.

An US part dealer told me this is part number 4861708-AB....do you think this is the issue?

Thanks,

Alejandro

You won't be able to rev it past 3K in Park or Neutral - that's the rev limiter. First, try a tune-up (plugs and maybe a PCV valve clean/replace). Cleaning the throttle body can help, too. It's not likely the throttle body is bad.

Thanks Mike,

What is the "PCV valve" and where is it located in the 3.5L V6 engine?
Do you know the part number?

I had the problem again with the car...I was driving 10 miles inside the city perfectly (soft, with busy traffic) and I parked it OK.
After 50 minutes stopped, I tried to start the car and It showed the red light and I wasn't able to drive it.
I waited 3 hours to have the engine completely cold and I also unplugged the connectors of the battery and the throttle body (electronic accelerator). It started and I drove back home the same 10 miles....when arriving home, I overpassed another car (I accelerated the car with decision to overtake) and the red ray light flashed and the car went back to 1000 rpm...with no response at all to acceleration AND worse....nearly impossible to brake....! Holy god I was close to my house and the speed was not much.

Thanks,

Thanks,
3.5L PCV VALVE, part #04792962AA
3.5L PCV HOSE,Tube Part #04792850AA

The PCV valve and hose sit attach to the valve cover. Its a simple unscrew and replace item that takes about 30 seconds to repair.
