Well, so far my car has died about 6 times when coming to a stop. It's embarrasing when my wife tells me that her brand new $15k Scion xb never stalls out but my $40k brand new 300 seems like it stalls out every couple weeks. Not only is it embarrasing but it's unsafe.

Have any of you had this problem? What is the solution? I'm guessing it's computer related. The car also has intermittent idle problems. It idles at around 500 rpms then feels like it's about to cut off then surges back to the normal 750 rpms.

Nothing yet. Last time I was in there was for the tranny leak and noisy sunroof. I completely forgot to tell them about the stalling problem.
I'm trying to get some input before I go to the dealer.

No issues like that over 4 years, but I have had others (none major). Sounds fuel related or electronic, dealer should scan for codes. Has the CEL come on, is your gas cap tight?

Not normal, remember no matter how great the 300 is, it remains a Chrysler and these kinds of things, sadly, are to be expected.

i recall this happening a while ago (car was still new) on off ramps when sharply braking in front of traffic light. i guess it was something related to esp computer which tries to regulate engine power. most ramps are not straight and you have to turn a bit while braking.

dealer did not find anything. i have not had anything since then. either it auto corrected or i no longer pushing it as i did then.

My car does the same exact thing. It's nerve wrecking when your new car nearly dies when you come to a stop light. What's even more frustrating is that it's intermittent which makes it hard to trace the problem. Any other feedback about this problem would be greatly appreciated!

if you top off the tank, you are vapor locking the motor.. there is no over-fill drain on these cars, when you top off the tank, the excess overflows into the evap canister and vapor locks the fuel tank/pump..

leave the gas cap off for about 10 miles after filling, and the car won't stall..

then STOP topping off the tank.. stop it short if you must, but never top it off.

my car does this sometimes also. it's almost like the engine is choking, and the rpm goes really low, almost to the point of stalling. i'm 99% sure it's carbon buildup in the engine.. does your engine light come on? mine does, but after you drive the car, letting the rpm reach 4000 or more, it goes off after a day or so and the car seems fine again for a while.

Topping off the tank, as Mr. iNCREDIBLE says, is known to cause problems. Watch those pump jockeys if you are not doing the pumping yourself.

Mine did this too (only actually died once, but idle seemed low many times when coming to a stop). Also got CEL with P0524 (oil pressure too low - maybe from the low idle???).

Anyway, there is a TSB for the P0524 issue (flash PCM). Took to dealer, told about both symptoms. Dealer flashed PCM and both problems went away. Idles good now except for the 'Hemi surge' - which my Magnum has also. I never thought I'd learn to love that, but it's become kind of a personality trait that seems almost quaint, now.

Kind of like riding a bucking bronco.

Yea i've had the same problem and that was the whole reason i joined the forum about a year ago. Didn't quite find the answer, most said it was carbon build-up. Complete stalls haven't happened for a while but little surges and low rpms still occur. It sucks when i have to look at the rpms at stops all the time!

My 2007 300C kept stalling intermittently. Mechanics unable to help.

A mate located a hole in the side of wiring harness from rear of engine bay to engine. Had worn through where hose touches low pressure line of A/C

Soldering a bridge between broken wires fixed problem.

At now functions and works fine. Previously had engine light and ETC lights on.
