I am able to adjust brightness, and have it set to auto and have the night mode set to 3, day set to 6. It stays bright at night and does not adjust. Is it supposed to and if so how do you get it to that mode. The Odyssey NAV has a day, night, auto setting and in auto when the lights are turned on the screen background changes to black.

You have to adjust the brightness wheel for your interior gauge lights. The wheel goes from minimum to maximum. Then you have two more indents. One for constant brightness, and one for the interior lights to go on.

Make sure that you stop the wheel before the first click.

I discovered by accident that the dash light reostat dimmed the navi screen.
Not one word in the car or navigation manuals about this important point, unlike the multiple references to the airbags and the passive restraint system (seatbelts). I was beginning to get mad, to think that I had to come to a complete stop to dim the navigation display at night. Then... I made my happy discovery, when the dash lights were too bright on a dark country road. :)

StCassel, now I don't feel so cheap for not wanting to pay the $5.00 shipping for the Nav manual, I would not have found the info I wanted anyway. The Nav is so user friendly I think I'll save the $8.00.

The navi manual does offer some useful tips and techniques for using the nav system. The manual just did not say how to dim the nav display at night. II Kings what happened to the manuals that came with your car? Mine was shrink-rapped and waiting in my glovebox. If Chrysler failed to include the manuals, your dealer should get them for you for free.
