Howdy,

I need a new fob for my '08 300c. I bought a shell but in the process broke the battery holder on the PCB..

Any idea how much a dealer will rob me for this? I have the key so no cutting needed..

Cheers,

Stef.

From what I have read some time ago, if you have TWO WORKING remotes you can buy a new complete remote fob get it cut and program it to the car. You can get new uncut keys on eBay. Original will cost you an arm & a leg.

I spoke to a dealer this morning. $700 to replace and program a new key!!

I have an auto locksmith coming this arvo who can supply and program a new one for $240.

Heart attack averted.

For a 2008 you should have a FOBIK key. What happened to the old one that means you need a replacement?

Usually the issue if they just stop working/work intermittently is the terminal on the side of the battery. A temporary fix with a bit of crd and a longer-term one with a soldering iron more often than not sorts the problem
