Date: June 3, 2005

Subject: Steering Column Power Tilt Inoperable

Overview: This bulletin involves flashing the Memory Seat Module (MSMD), replacing the steering column power tilt coupling and two steering column support brackets.

Models: 2005 - 2006 (LX) 300C

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicle equipped with a power tilt and telescoping steering column (sales code SUB).

NOTE: The flash portion of this bulletin should be performed on all applicable vehicles built prior to June 15, 2005.

Symptom/Condition: Steering column will not tilt up or down.

Diagnosis: Attempt to tilt the steering column by moving the tilt/telescope stalk switch on the left side of the steering column up and/or down, if the column does not move perform the Repair Procedure.

This happened to my car over the weekend, without this forum I would be paying for this repair

I've had this happen once as well, but the next time I started the car, it worked fine again. Been fine since... go figure.
Just had this TSB done to my car. The tilt wheel works again but it doesn't tilt down as much as before. I suspect the second bit of tilt you get after the wheel stops was causing the motor/gears to bind the kit seems to limit the down movement.
