I have a 2012 Chrysler 300 Luxury Series (6-cyl) where both roof grab handles above the door in the rear are now rattling, especially when its cold and going over bumps. Might the solution be as simple as tightening the screws? (I see I have to take the plastic covers off the screws.) Any special tools needed for the screws? One of the previous threads said they actually had to loosen them a little to get rid of a rattle. Also, another previous thread mentioned taking the grab handles off and applying a little grease. Anything to watch out for? I'd hate to get into trouble with the headliner or the roof material. Thank you.

The little plastic cover will pop off without much force. I was able to pull it off with only my finger, but a small flat tip will make short work of it. There is no problem removing these handles. You'll have to experiment with what works for you. Tighten, loosen, pull screw out completely and put a foam washer in between, grease the springs, etc...
Let us know what works for you.
