I'm thinking about doing a quick First Oil Change at 50 Miles, then 500.

What's a Good Aftermarket Filter?

What Oil for Break In do you rec :smoker: ommend?

Thanks;

I think most people are going with the OEM filter, which BTW is the same for both engines. Go with the recommended oil as well, Mobile 1 0W-40, which the overwhelming majority are using.

they are the same filter. DO NOT use a FRAM filter, it is the absolute worst filter on the market. I use WIX or NAPA GOLD - - they are the same(Napa part #1085) but I've heard good things about the Mobil One filters too. Have not seen a cutaway of one to see what's inside yet so for now i'm sticking with what I know is a top notch filter. The OEM filter is made by purolator I'm told and I've seen inside a purolator filter. Way better than a FRAM but still not that impressive. WIX/NAPA GOLD is the best I've seen by far. Use Mobil 1 (or other synthetic) 0w40 (i'm assuming you have an SRT8). there is no special break in oil. Use what you are gonna run in the car forever.

Thanks, Boys...

I think I'm all set...now, all I need is the SRT8 to arrive, which should be any day.

So, to recap, I'm using a non metallic tint (35%), 3M Clear Bra, Oil & Filter Changes at 50 & 500 Miles.

For Starters, that should keep Her happy...

Anything Else I miss..?

This may sound stupid, but where is the oil filter on this car?
Remove that flat under-belly pan covering the bottom of the engine bay. You will see the filter on the right(passenger) side of the pan, tucked up a few inches. You pretty much need an oil filter socket to get it off.

I use Amsoil oil filters ..... they are top notch ....

Yes, the same filter as the 300c, a 99 Grand Jeep Cherokee V8, and my wife's current 2005 Pacifica ....

Very handy when I order filters ....

The amsoil part # is : SDF42
