I think most people are going with the OEM filter, which BTW is the same for both engines. Go with the recommended oil as well, Mobile 1 0W-40, which the overwhelming majority are using.M3SMG02 said:...are they?

Remove that flat under-belly pan covering the bottom of the engine bay. You will see the filter on the right(passenger) side of the pan, tucked up a few inches. You pretty much need an oil filter socket to get it off.marlinspike said:This may sound stupid, but where is the oil filter on this car?
