Do you have an item on the seat? Or under the seat?

Is the seat all the way back? Try moving it up a bit.

300CwannaB, I have had this problem ongoing for about 7 months and nobody can figure out why the light comes on. It only comes on in the morning for me while the car is cold. After the cabin warms up AND I shut the car off and restart it, its gone. I brought it to the dealer while the light was on and they ran codes. My case is currently with Chrysler Engineers. Hopefully its not the same problem as mine. I have had the sensor re-calibrated 5 times. They have replaced the occupent restraint sensor twice, and the air bag module once. Yet, just about every morning the light comes on. I hope you have better luck than me. I love this car, but between oil changes and "minor" problems, I have been back to my dealership close to 20 times in less than a year of ownership. I bought a new car to avoid trips to the dealership and it seems like I'm visiting more than I was with my old caddy. I'm not sure how much more I'm willing to put up with this. I may take the hit and look at a V8 STS. My old Caddy dealership service department was top notch. I never had to bring the car back for the same issue. Sorry guys, just venting. Mine will also come on while driving sometimes, but again its only when the cabin temperature is cold. So WTFK...

When my car was new I had the problem where both lights would go on simultaneously. After much scratching of their heads, the dealer replaced the module under the passenger seat. Incidentally, while they were awaiting the parts, they kept my car and gave me a loaner as it was considered a sefety issue.

Since the module was replaced, I've had no problems.

They (The dealer) had to recalibrate mine after installing the seat skins. They actually have these different weights (they come in a huge mopar suitcase) that they use to calibrate it. I watched the whole process, pretty amazing how much technology (not saying goor or bad) these cars have.

another problem???

Just when I thought it was getting better... I was wrong.. Went to the dealer today, waited 1hr for them to fix the passengerside airbag light (which they fixed :) ) Got into the Hemster, started it, turned on music.. Dam 6 disk CD changer broke  .. It wasn't even playing none of my cd's?? Tried to eject them, got a "ERROR" code displayed..LOL I didn't even leave the Chrysler Dealership Lot!!!! .. I told the Service Manager and there Advisor about the problem, without asking any ?'s and BS'n me, they ordered me another 6 disk cd changer :p . Now that's customer satisfaction.. :D

The rental that i'm driving right now is having the same problem.
Ha, I wasn't aware this was a problem (I thought the light is telling me it's off because nobody is in the passenger seat and therefor there is not enough weight to turn it on), but the rental I'm driving while my car is at the body shop (Chevy Silverado 1500HD) has the same problem as well. And people ask me why I drive a 20 year old car...

A lot of times the passenger seat will lose calibration especially when putting excessive force on the back of the seat in a forward direction ( like turning around to back up or reaching for something in the backseat). This throws the seat tension sensors into negative weight which really throws it off.

Today at about noon the airbag light on my 300c came on. It was not the light below the clock but on the speedometer. Funny thing about it is after getting home with the light on, I shut of the car and turned it on again. This time no airbag light anymore. HMMMMMMM...wierd. The hemster just turned its 4000 mile milestone. First, it was the transmission hose leak and now the airbag light.......what's next..................

CDBLU, take it to the deaker ASAP and they will re-calibrate it! It's an easy fix. I feel you on the problems."New car and all, and sooo many problems..." The same thing was happening to me, and I barely hit the 1500 milestone. Don't give up, and love your Hemster.. later
