Hey 300 fam, last week my passenger side HID bulb blew off and I replaced it with new one but in doing so, the alignment of the the beam has gone off and that specific light is facing higher than normal. I have tried changing the alignment by loosening the screw next to it for vertical adjustments but still no change. So, I am wondering if there is anything else that can be done in order to fix the issue.

TIA

Was your replacement bulb OEM quality, eg Osram? If it was one of the many cheaper offerings available, then that could be your problem. Beam alignment is very sensitive to the internal geometry of the bulb, so bulb quality is very important. You could try swapping the bulbs between headlamps to see what happens. In any event, bulbs should be replaced in pairs. as when one blows, the other is sure to follow.

I wish my car had the Auto Level HID setup as I’m spoiled by the LED headlamps in my Ranger Lariat. However, my factory halogens have always been aimed too high from delivery- will have that remedied next month at the annual service.:)

Either manually adjust with Phillips screw driver form access hole above headlamp or find someone who has a Maxisys Diag Tool with ADAS feature and re-calibrate. Worse case cenario is that one of you level adjustment censors has failed.

There are so many lights around now that aren't much good. You really need to stick to known brands.

I went through all that, and while some are ok, the majority I wouldn't trust. I mean, some LED ones that melt after 20 mins use from their own generated heat??? Who needs it?

Given that the cost of a headlight housing is RIDICULOUS (my older (2007) ones are 3 grand EACH) is isn't worth putting in cheap, dodgy globes. The orig Osrams for mine are about $60 here. Save $30 on a cheaper one and it is close to a reflector/shifts/melts it = few grand for a new housing.................. no thanks.

Mine is the earlier type, but it is across the market.

Is there any specific difference in the dimensions of the replacement globe?

I'd be looking at brand that worked/fitted, and try that.
