I was going to pick up a PVC valve,only 10 bucks, and change mine when I install my catch can but Advance says it's a special order item. No big deal just wondering if these can be inspected. Do they have the ball inside that rattles or should they be replaced at a certain mileage interval.

They have a check ball inside so you'd test them just like any other. If it rattles, it's good. If it don't, time to replace it.

You'll likely find they're more than $10. More like $30. I clean mine 'bout once a year.

And, technically, it's a "PCV valve", PCV standing for Positive Crankcase Ventilation. And yes, it's basically a check valve, only flows one way. Just a little FYI.
