I have a 2007 Chrysler 300 C hemi 5.7. The PCM has gone bad. Can I swap it with a 2006 5.7 PCM?

Does the pcm have to be the exact same year? I have a 2010 that needs a pcm and I wad wondering if I could use a different year?

You could probably swap it with the same year and similarly equipped Dodge Charger and, at most have to reconfigure some of the buss settings. For sure you'd have to reprogram the VIN and the PCM mileage.

I've installed a 08 Hemi Jeep Grand Cherokee PCM/TCM in my 06 Hemi GC Overland and it works fine. My main purpose for doing it was so, using my HP Tuner, I could reprogram the TCM portion so it is now a 6 speed instead of a 5 speed. Works great and is now close ratio through the first 4 gears with 5 and 6 being overdrive gears. Makes a huge difference in performance when moving that 5000 lb. barn door down the street.
