Hi Guys, Instead of doing electric cutouts, a good exhaust guy who specialises in Mustangs here in London, UK, suggest that I do CAI and a tuner for my Chrysler 300 SRT8 wagon. it's 2009 with 72k miles; i've had since new the only performance mods I have done is install a Magnaflow catback, but I removed the centre box as I found it too quiet and got straight pipes to the back box. However, I am confused with the different tuners that are available. What is suitable for my car: Predator, InTune or Trinity? It appears the Predator has been discontinued but still available. And which Cold Air Intake is best for the UK spec SRT8?
Cheers, Chris

First off, killer looking ride. I hate to give you an ignorant answer because I dont know the difference between UK LX's and USA LX's but I can say that all three of the tuners are good for your car. Yes, the Predator is discontinued but still available and it works just fine. The Intune is the upgrade from the Predator and has the same options as the Predator but comes with the cable to connect to your computer (Diablo needs an extra cable purchased), its much easier to navigate through your tunes and is a one part number for all aplications where as the Predator has several part numbers depending on which vehicle you have. The Trinity is an upgrade from the Intune and has everything the Intune has plus onboard diagnostics, guages, virtual track tree and a few other useful additions. So it just depends on your budget and what you really intend to do. And your Mustang specialist is absolutely right, usually the very fist thing you want to do is exhaust, CAI and tuner. Then mod from there. And as for the best CAI, that is debatable. I personally have the Airhammer which I love. Hope my information helped atleast a little bit.

4u2nv, thanks dude for your thoughts. I'll certainly be getting the latest gadget by the sound of it. And yes, it's a great ride and head turner with the awesome American V8 sound it makes. The kids thinks it's out of a Batman movie...!

The tunes packaged with each of those tuners are the same. The Predator, as you know, is no longer produced but is still supported by DiabloSport. The InTune is the current generation tuner. Several improvements were made with this generation unit, namely the user interface, ease of navigation and communication protocol. The Trinity is an option laden tuner with a whole host of display options to see real time data while you are operating your vehicle. All three units will log the same parameters.

I personally would be looking to implement the InTune for basic tunes, custom tunes and for the interface upgrade over the Predator. If I wanted the real time monitoring, I would purchase the Trinity. I personally would not implement the Trinity due to the increased cost for little increased benefit. The displays are nice, however, other than being pretty it's not any significant upgrade from the Predator or the Trinity, IMHO.

Got a laptop? All you need to do detailed real time logging with a predator. That's the way I go. Predator plugs into car, laptop plugs into predator, You use the data viewer app from DS. Log, save, email to tuner & load onto predator using ds downloader also an app you can download from DS.

Hi BADGX, yes Profusion customs in Colnebrook, nr Heathrow, did install the Magnaflow cat back for me and I went back after six months for him to remove the centre box to make it louder. And the Youtube video is where I had the Matte Black wrap done RT Performance, Chiswick. The guy, Taras, who did the wrap and wheels was reversing the car out of his workshop.

I though so, its a heavy ride dude and the front Startech leds look awesome! I'm glad you came along, definitely you need to get the Diablosport tuner although I have to say I'm surprised that you haven't had it installed already, you won't regret the performance increase. Highly recommend :yup:

I've been a bit slow doing that stuff. Looks like the 300c shop uk has a CAI for the SRT8 - I may get that one, instead of waiting for one from the states. But will order the tuner any UK suppliers do you know? I know Paul of the 300c shop uk, has offered to sell me his Predator. I prob go for the Trinity has a few more mods on it I understand.
