Had a little disagreement with a trailer hitch which put a nice hole in my rear bumper. Anyone have any idea what it will cost to have a rear bumper on a 300C replaced? Thanks.

Been there...Done That...I'm with you on this one!

Grey Eagle,

Hello, This is Brian Carotenuto. Sorry to hear about your car. I just had my rear bumper skin and rear panel replaced after being rearended over the Memorial Day Weekend. The basic bumper skin unpainted w/o Park Assist sensors runs around 265. Now if the bumper bar itself is damaged figure in another 140 approximately, plus paint and labor. To put the bumper skin on mine ran around 500, but with the added damage to the rear panel, that raised the damage to 1240. I hope this helps you out. I have enclosed pictures of the damage that was done to my car.

This is the first set of pictures.

Sincerely yours,

Brian T. Carotenuto

This is what my 300 looked like after the accident...

Grey Eagle,

Here is what my 300 looked like after the accident over the Memorial Day weekend. Doesn't look too bad, until the shop removed the plastic bumper fascia. (See my first reply to you)

Sincerely yours,

Brian T. Carotenuto

Hi Bill, I'm so sorry to hear about your mishap!!

Brian's numbers dshould give you something to go on, but having a C with parking sensors I'm sure will change the game... just don't know to what degree and offhand can't think of anyone else that had a similar problem...
ANYONE that can chime in???

Keep us posted and best of luck.. :eek:uch:

Hey Grey......

I have had an accident with my bumper and have yet to get it replaced. Funny actually....it was the day I brought her home from the dealer and after a 15+ hour drive with no incidents, as my excited ass hopped into the car to back her out of the driveway (well parking lot) I somehow managed to back into my mothers SUV!!! I know Im an idiot, and even with parking sensors I still managed to hit her car (when I usually back out of my parking space, Im not used to a car being parked behind my turning radius...which my moms was...and I guess I was so excited to finally get her out and drive her for the first time my dumb ass neglected to see her car there.

Anyways, I had a deep surface abrasion on the paint. It didnt dent the bumper, but the paint is pretty badly scraped on the bottom right corner of the bumper. Its not really that noticable, unless the car is freshly washed, thats why Im not really in a hurry to fix it.

The dealer/bodyshop quoted me on about $1000 for a new bumper/paintjob. I do have parking sensors as well.

What I want to do when I have them replace my bumper, is get a base model bumper and have them fit the parking sensors in it instead of replacing it with the "C" bumper. Im not a big fan of the chrome strip on the back of my bumper, and I plan to get new exhaust tips which wouldnt look right in the circular cut-outs we have.
...like I said Im in no rush to have this done, I guess Im just going to wait for a week when Im outta of town to get it fixed so I dont have to part with my car for that long.

Hope this helps you get an idea of the price your looking at (around the $1000 range, it varies) and Im sorry to hear about your mishap, I know how ya feel, lol.

-You might also want to check around with a bunch of local body shops and whatnot instead of taking it to the dealer to try and find a better price.
-Or perhaps see if you can order the full rear bumper from perhaps Wycoff or another place online cheaper than what the dealer would charge you and have a body shop install/paint it for ya. Might save a couple bucks that way as well.
