2016 300c - My rear power sunshade is not working properly. When you put it up, the steel flex cable(that moves the shade up and down) on one side pops out of the track when it's about halfway up. I can push said cable back into the track by hand and it will retract fine, but pops back out the next time you try to put it up. Has anyone else seen this and is there an easy fix?
Another question also.... I just bought this car last week and it has 37k miles on it. Is it too late to buy an extended factory warranty thru Chrysler?

I'm just joining this forum looking for a simple answer to the exact same problem.... I also purchased a 2016 Chrysler 300C just two months ago.....

My sun shade is also coming off track when it rewinds back down into the housing unit....

it pulls to the left approximately 4 inches then bunches up like a folded umbrella.... remains out of the housing unit once the bracket has closed...


I contacted the local dealership and they stated it would cost $1,100 to replace...

The vehicle came with a full-time manufacturer warranty... However it will be expiring in 2 months from now... Unknown at this time if that rear power shade will be covered...

Such a really nice car with an awesome feature...

To the original poster or if anyone has had a similar updated issue ....please inform how your situation was resolved .....Thanks

This is a continual problem on 2nd gen 300s. I had the rear sunshade replaced on my two 300s three times. Two times under warranty. Non warranty repair was $1,300 something at dealer. Poorly designed and will continue to have issues so if you can get the extended or unlimited warranty then do so.

I have the same issue in my 2016 300c. Purchased used in Sept 2019. I does just as described, pops out of the track about 3/4 of the way to the top on one side. I've pushed it in multiple times with the same result as previously described. I like the shade but am not going to pay $1100-1300 to have the shade replaced. As time permits I am going to investigate further. It would help to have a diagram of the rear shade assembly.

It can be redone by yourself if you are patient and handy. Others here have done it with at least two or three folks with posts on how/what to do. Fair amount of disassembly. I was not that adventurous and forked out the dough.

I have a 2015 300 and my shade stopped working, I bought the extended warranty. Went in to have it replaced but now my car doesn’t recognize my key fob. Took back to the dealership, First the technician forgot to attach the antenna back thought that would fix the issue, but picked it back up and still won’t recognize my key fob and yes battery is new.
