Question...

I just installed the OEM 6 disc, MP3 unit...

The red light flashes when I turn the car off.

I am assuming this is the "anti-theft" feature of this radio.

I did a search of the forum, and didn't find anything.

The manual doesn't appear to say anything about this.

This is normal, correct??

There is a red LED on the left side of the instrument cluster, which flashes when the alarm is on (automatic when doors are locked with the key fob at least). I've got the NAV radio, so can't be sure on the non-NAV unit, but there are no lights on the NAV unit when the car is off/locked.

Page 24 of my owner's manual explains the alarm system "if equipped". Does upgrading the radio also add the alarm feature somehow? That I don't know. I just wish it was easier to replace the red LED with an obnoxious bright blue one that might scare off people in the area smashing windows to steal radar detectors and such.

Yeah, this red light is on the radio itself, under the tuning knob on the lower right.

I am already aware of the one on the instrument cluster.

I should have made that more clear in my original post.
