I had mine installed so as ready when I took delivery. It is Chrysler -- installed by Dealers contractor.I'm very satisfied with it;Getting into a warm/cool car is worth it.jimchris said:Has anyone added remote start? Page 13 of my owners manual says the car is not compatible with remote start. If you have this what is a good brand or model?
I have dealer installed remote start system called "valet". It is programed to use the factory remote, I need to press the lock button twice, within 3 seconds, to start the car. have the car 2 mos. 2000 mi., and no problem so far. the only complaint I have is when car starts, there is no indication, (flashing parking lights, etc.) to confirm that the car is actually running.jimchris said:Has anyone added remote start? I looked at a lot of remote starters and liked the Viper 160XV. It goes in on Feb. 3, thanks for the input.tbyrne said:I have the Viper 160XV in mine. Works great but I don't remember the price. If I had to guess I would say between $250. and $400. installed.
My local dealer didn't know if the remote for a 300 was the same as the 300c/SRT8. They were not sure they could install it. I didn't have a good feeling about them working on my car, so I ended up going to a local shop that only does remotes.VelvetHammer said:I have the Mopar remote start installed by the dealer as part of the negotiated price. Thats not true with my remote start.wantit said:I have dealer installed remote start system called "valet". on a trip back to the dealer, I questioned the romote start installer, and he said he didn't think the srt8 could be programed for that feature, but would check when he got back to his shop. next time I go in for service, I will ask them to check It.
I would like a remote starter like yours but my dealer never heard of being able to use the factory key fob to start the car. Could you let me know the brand, model etc.NautcaSprt6 said:Thats not true with my remote start.
When I press the lock button the first time the horn sounds while the turn signals and the headlights flash then the brake lights and the fog lights flash, then i press the lock button again and the same thing happens then my car starts and the brake lights stay on and the fog lights stay on.
You should take it in and check it out.
Im currently at work right now and I dont have the manual with me nor is it in my car.jimchris said:I would like a remote starter like yours but my dealer never heard of being able to use the factory key fob to start the car. Could you let me know the brand, model etc.

This isnt an option yet, from DCX anyway, but there are some aftermarket units that are activated by pushing the factory RKE in a certain sequence. We use one of them for our Subaru customers since they dont offer a remote start option. Dont know the name, factory installed remote start in the key fob from DCX begins with the 07 Durango, and should make its way around the product line within a year or two.jimchris said:I would like a remote starter like yours but my dealer never heard of being able to use the factory key fob to start the car.
