I ordered a Mopar remote start and have been waiting. DC told me (email) that they would be available end of June. Still waiting for the dealer to call. Keep us posted.
Yes, it does do everything you stated. I live in the midwest, where I find it particularly invaluable in the Winter months. Re: its operation, when you remote start the car, it automatically locks all doors before starting the engine. When you get in the car you have to insert the key and turn the ignition on before taking the car out of Park, or it will automatically kill the engine. On my (diesel) Excursion, it has an automatic start delay (8 seconds I think) to allow the glow plugs to warm up before starting the engine.Hemi57 said:What's the deal with "Remote Start"? Is the attraction to remotely start the car to warm it up (or cool it down) a few minutes before you want to drive off? Does it give you an option to just start the car without unlocking the doors for security? In Australia the authorities have outlawed Turbo Timers because they reckon it encouraged thefts so I bet the remote start option will not be offerred here!
