Removing Chrome Window Molding

Can any one confirm that the door edge where the chrome window moulding sits is in fact finished and painted. Part #4 in the illustrations below. I am considering removing that molding and want to make sure that the door edge beneath the molding is finished and painted. Seems it would be given that the door edge on the 300 base, touring, and limited, I believe it is, are finished and it is unlikely the automated painting program used at Brampton Assembly calls for that quarter inch door edge strip where the molding sits is to be painted on all but the 300 C and SRT8 models.
