Hi there everyone I just sold my 20 inch wheels and was wondering how the car really rides the ride on the stocks isnt bad kinda floats and with the 20's it wasnt bad just more tight and sporty

but havent had 22's and now I have read some post and I am kinda worried about the ride being bad can anyone help LOL

please let me know if you have road in a 300 with 20's and then 22's

I love 22's

I love the looks of my 300 w/ 22's.. But i must say, you can feel the road alot more. I went from the stock cushy oem 18's to 22's and WOW!! :eek: what a difference. I can feel the small cracks on the road, little rocks and such. When it rains, the car would slide just a little (NOT alot) in the rears when turning.. Also, I noticed the brakes work a lilttle bit harder when stopping :D . If ride quality is your thing, then don't step up to the 22" bling.. ;) later...

he said it perfectly. I noticed it instantly but wasnt annoyed by it. If you are on a road with a LOT of constant bumps/cracks/potholes. It will rattle your head a bit. If they are minor bumps spread out. Doesnt bother me at all. I also noticed the thing about the brakes. They feel like they work harder but not hard..if that makes sense.

yeah I really like how the 22's look but this is for my wife and we dont need a bit%$ing wife LOL

she will just complain if it isnt perfect and also what about car washes can you still go through them with the 22x9.5

I was looking at the cabo 113 22x9 it is a 9 not 9.5 kinda like that aliitle better just more tire to cover the lip of the rim REMBER THIS IS MY WIFES CAR LOL

Well, my experience is that "wives" (those of my friends and friends' mothers, anyway) like the Lincoln Towncar type "floating" of a ride rather than jittery 22's. My experience is also that "wives" could care less about the aesthetics of "big fat 22's" ala tonka toy. So, I'd get her some big, soft cushiony 18's.. you may as well have left the stock 18's on there.

That said, if you do go ahead and get 22's then I bet you $1 she'll be bitching about feeling every ant in the road that she rolls over. Unless she's schooled in "performance" driving somehow and plans on doing some sharp, fast cornering and the 22's are for anything more than aesthetics, then opt for 18's and save yourself a headache!

I agree with Joe. I've driven a few different 300Cs with 22's, as well as also being a passenger in these same cars, and the ride quality was 'miserable', as compared to the stock '300 series' tires/wheels. This is due to the nearly non-existent sidewalls of the low-profile tires which have to be utilized with these over-sized wheels. Like Joe said, this allows one to experience every little bump and crack in the road. Before you actually purchase a set of 22" tires/wheels, first borrow/test drive a similar vehicle (equipped with similar tires/wheels) and then drive across a set of railroad tracks and/or through a mall's back parking lot...definitely not a pleasant experience. :(

My '300 Touring' came originally equipped with 17" tires/wheels and the ride quality was smooth. I upgraded to 18" '300C' tires/wheels (with non self-sealing Conti's) and the ride quality didn't change all that much...it was still smooth. I then had the opportunity to drive a '300C' with forged aluminum 20" wheels with hi-performance tires, and I must admit that the handling had substantially improved while the ride quality was still relatively smooth and by far acceptable. I'd really hate to hear later on that you had in fact decided to invest so much money for tires/wheels that your wife did not appreciate. Also remember, that used tires/wheels will be worth about half as much as what you originally paid for them, if even that much...just read our 'Buy/Sell' section, as well as scan some eBay listings.

Personally, I too like the look of some of the 22" tires and wheels (as I've always felt that the stock tires/wheels simply look too small on our cars), but after reading through numerous threads/posts by those who are/have experienced 'ride quality' issues related to their recently purchased 22" tires/wheels, I therefore decided to upgrade (once again), and purchased a set of 'SRT-8' 20x9 forged aluminum wheels with Goodyear 'F1 Supercar' tires. :cool:
