Risk with ebay 22"s?

8606 Views 47 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  AWDRIVER
For the longest time, I had my heart on the 22" TIS 07's, then I realized that no one has them in stock, and ebay wants to get rid of 4 for 1800 without tires.. I bought a base model 300.. So i dont have the nice v8 to satisfy my crave for a little speed every now and then.. Knowing that I can buy an lt1 z28 for about the price of those rims + tires, I decided to just skip out and buy some ebay knock offs.

I found a set of 22s I liked, they claimed it fits a 300M, but I dont know if all the years are similar or what.. And im afraid of all this control arm mumbu jumbo, especially afraid of ebaying rims and they dont fit.

What they offer was 114.3x5, I didnt check any other measurements, but can anyone give me a set that wont rub the bolt?

From what I heard, 114.3x5 9 or 9.5 with 265/35/22 will fit without problems. Can anyone confirm this? I know TIS makes their wheels specifically to fit perfectly, which are 115x5 right? Anywho, before I purchase $1000 rims, I'd just like an idea.

Does anyone know how much a set of 4 265/35/22 would cost? And what company tires should I be looking at?

"22x9.5" with a 5X114.3"

hubcentric adapters

i dont think it matters what they are made out of, i've had 2 cars that used these and they oth sported plastic adapters. never broke, never had any problems. and i put 90k miles on the one car with the adapters.. (actually they are still on the car)

michael
I know this may not matter but, I had a grand prix with a 5x115 bolt pattern and I put on my brothers rims off his ford escape with a 5x114.3 Bolt pattern and they fit perfect with no problems whatsoever.
Mabye for you...

Mabye for you...but don't tell other people on the forum to do it because their rim could fly off at high speed going over an unexpected bump cuz their lugs have stress fractures from bending them to fit a 5x114.3 onto a 5x115...

COME ON PEOPLE>>>

If you went to shucks/checkers/kragar/ whatever it is where you live... and they said... "Well sir... your bolt pattern is this... but these will work"..

You'd say BS buddy... I'm going to NAPA... UNLESS you want your shit to be jimmy rigged... .

That is what it comes down to... if you are going to spend the money get something that fits...

Dude....you don't seriously think that there's absolutely NO room for play in these rims and that we're going to have to take a 10 pound maul to bend the shit out of the lug nuts?? The lugs are not going to be fractured OR bent after application.

Previous posts from other members on other threads.......

the "proper" bolt pattern is 5x115,... however, myself and several others on this board are running 5x114.3 with absolutely no problems.
:eek2: Holy shit!!! Have you guys been experiencing any wheels flying off lately??

Here is a page from the service manual.
Ohhhhhh I don't know Chrysler Service Manual, did you know that 115mm is actually 4.52755906" and not 4.5"???

This too, is my last post in this godforsaken thread.

I stand Corrected

I stand Corrected on 1 matter.... I sincerely apologize for the comments towards kangol... but it just looked a little wierd... my bad...

But I'm not saying you have to bend the lugs to get the wheels on...

:sigh1:

I'm saying that over time you will (possibly) develop stress fractures...

AND I'm DONE POSTING IN THIS FRICKING THREAD>>>

DO WHAT YOU WANT BUT REAP THE WHIRLWIND>>>>

Once again....,,, Sorry Kangol... my bad....
