First, Welcome to the forum!

1) RKE is the battery in your key fobs. - Have both keys checked at the dealer.
2) If you have a Mopar remote start there are some programming problems that need to be resolved.

tekhen, Thanks for the info

Can you believe the service department actually kept the car this morning and said it would probably be a few days. The guy that took in my service order said the RKE Battery has to do with the torque and I could lose power if I kept driving it, but that the technicians would have to check it out. I'm calling them -- I can't believe it something as simple as the battery in my key/remote. (I do not have the remote start feature on my car.)

What can torque have to do with it?

I believe this is a known issue/bug with the Mopar remote starter, as I have this problem also along the auto headlights bug. I think someone in one of the remote starter threads indicated that there is a software upgrade to fix this, but I have yet to contact my dealer to find out. The warning only stays one for about a minute, so some people might never have noticed it. Bottom line, it is not a torque issue, nor is the RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) Battery really low.

 I would pick my car up from that dealer and drive away as fast as I could!

Go to your local drug store or Radio Shack and pick up a CR2032 battery. They're about the size of a nickle. You can easily replace it yourself.

I have 10 year old RKE fobs with my Plymouth Voyager, 7 year olds with my Mustang, and traded in 6 year olds with the VW Beetle that got replace by the 300C, and never had to replace any battery, ever. I replace the CR2032's in my electronic Rolodex about every two years. It gets used daily. Something doesn't sound right with the battery story. Of course, there just might be a faulty one or two out there.

Isnt RKE= Remote Keyless Entry??? Tell him there is no T in there that might stand for torque :) I hope you wrote down the miles exactly, I have a feeling he wanted to borrow your car... honestly, for the remote battery I would have not wasted the gas to go to the dealer when its something we can change ourselves... good luck, keep us posted.

ok, my car is a 2005 with 45,000 miles but when I opened the key I have 4 individual battery looking things. Screwed the cover back on and will probably take to the dealer but local dealer likes to charge $75 for a diagnostic when you ask for just a quote/estimate. My indicator blinks and makes dinging noises with the batt low message showing. Can the RKE battery cause all this?!

In all likelyhood you have a problem with the solder connections inside the key fob. If you have any skills with electronics you can attempt the repair yourself - http://www.300cforums.com/forums/problems-dealer-service/51340-problem-remote-entry-key-fob.html.

If not, and I'm assuming you're out of warranty, you'll have to have the dealer repair/replace the fob.

Maybe you have a friend who can do this???

The four "battery looking things" are the physical switches that the external door lock, door unlock, trunk unlock, and panic buttons press on.

The battery (CR2032) is on the other side of the board. Most likely the battery holder clip has popped out of its solder joints and needs a repair job.
