Every once in a while I get a message in my car saying "Service Shifter Soon" and the lights on the shifter will be off. The next day I get in my car, the message is gone and the lights work. Anybody else experience this crazy issue? P.s. my car is a 2012 with the 8 spd. trans

figures...probly just my luck...haha. The other day I went to press the button to turn on the cruise control and it wouldnt work either. Then, with a slight thump of my fist on the steering wheel, it worked again. Seems like I'm having electrical issues for some reason.

Well the shifter is basically a joystick. I wonder if the contacts need cleaning as part of a scheduled maintenance. I haven't read anything about it needing any service though.

So have the shifter serviced soon, and report back as to what was done. If there is a fault it should be covered under the warranty.

Everytime I would go to bring mine in, I wouldn't have the message anymore. I've never been able to bring it in while the message was up. Just comes and goes as it pleases.

I can imagine this being worse than the pink thingy if it's not known what the message means and the shifter stops working.

But the dealer should be able to pull the code up, and they should also know what generates that message.

If it were older you could do that key dance thingies and get it to cough up a code. But I can't find any way to get that to work on the second generation.

Take a photo of the message when it displays and show that to the dealer.

Shifter service

I done 113000 on my 2012 Chrysler 8 speed and just start having service the shifter ,
Seems every dealer has different approach about they cars !!

I took a picture of the dash when the message popped up. Also a picture of the actual shifter because when the message pops up, the lights on the shifter go out too. Dealer says they're not sure what could cause this. Sounds like some dealerships care and most don't. I'm going to try that fuse pull and see if it works. Anybody having issues with the cruise control as well? Go to push the button on the steering wheel and it doesn't come on. Take a light fist bump to the steering wheel and it works???

My service gear shift light came on in my Chrysler300 C 2013. I took it to the dealership and was told it needed to be replaced. I had it replaced and the same light came back on again.
