Dealer did a reprogram to the tcm last night after reporting hesitation in shift between first and second, felt like hitting limiter, car was in D. Happened several times.

Car was made August 17, 2005.

This is the information on the reprogram tag:

Don't know, did do a couple of wots afterwards with proper functioning, but will wait for more testing before concluding as the tech did that there will be no problem.

The only answer would be that the update was subsequent to the build program installed on the car.

That is certainly the apparant reaction of the service writer and tech who did the work. The tech said, there shouldn't be a problem now, but I figure that remains to be seen.

Our MSRT8 came under this TSB and we had it done. It still has a really noticable hesitation at WOT on the shift today. It is at the service department for the next few days, so I put it on the list to see if they could find a new solution to it. I think it is probably very aggressive torque managment during the shift that causes it, though. A 420tq car with the small tires and light back end of the SRT8 would probably get rubber for 20ft on the shift without some torque managment 'stuff' killing the power :D :D

WhiteDiamond, I presume you mean the exact same number I listed above.

How long ago did you have the tcm reprogram done and when was your car manufactured??

Thanks Dennis

Service department tells me that is the number of the advisory and that there are different series numbers for differnt lx models, magnum v 300c. Howver it is strange that these numbers are 18 and 19 and everything else is the same.

Maybe someone with more inside information can help us out??

Todd,
My 300 SRT 8 was built in April and I do not have the problem and never have as long as you leave it in drive and floor the loud pedal. It runs right to redline and bang shifts everytime. I guess if it aint broke don't fix it!! Hope your gets repaired.

Salty,

Ours has always done it and I noticed it as I approached our house from my drive home on delivery(it was an 800mile drive and time to see what she could do). I made note of it and found it was random. It is more common now that temps have dropped, even though the flash has been done. I notice it almost 100% of the time if I get into it hard(not WOT) to keep the tires planted and then lay 100% into the throttle after moving. If I go 100% from the start, it is much less common, probably 95% less common.

you are so right about excessive torque management. That's why we're all praying for the software gurus to crack this system!
