its my understanding that platinum plugs are good for 50k to 60k, maybe even longer. there is some dispute that some engines do not like platinum plugs, dont remember why.dkals said:Has anybody come to a conclusion on spark plugs? I know the subject was brought up before. If you change the plugs at 30K to platinum plugs would you have to change them out again at 60K?
hollywood said:If it's a true hemi all plug will work great when they are new...better plug just last longer...it's not a good idea to leave spark plugs in for a long time...they will fall apart and then you will have a hard time to get them out...
on a non hemi engine flame travel is important to make horse power..on a hemi the plug and valves are on the top and gas air mix will fire much better so it's not as important to have great plugs..
What he said,I like Bosch platinum 4, (Golden Lodge for Alfa) and if they have an application for da Hemi I'll use it.LWOOD said:Except, for the minimal difference in cost between a very high end plug, and one that is not renown for great quality (champion comes to mind) why not put in the best damn 16 plugs you can buy into your baby? Just my .02.
Platinum plugs were in my dodge caravan with a recomended change at 100,000 miles. Went the distance with no problems. I would put them in the hemi if the was a specified size for it.II kings 9:20 said:What he said,I like Bosch platinum 4, (Golden Lodge for Alfa) and if they have an application for da Hemi I'll use it.
