I get very poor reception on my SRT-8 AM/FM radio. I do not yet have the Satellite Radio set-up, and I have the basic package as far as the stock radio goes, 6-SPeaker Boston Acoustics. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix?

Thanks,

Dunk

The reception is absolutely horrible!! I have the nav/satelite set-up and it looks like it doesnt matter either way. Worst car ever for reception.
Thanks guys. I guess I'll just keep the "Woke Up This Morning" theme from the Sopranos on replay 24/7. :AR15firin

Really? I didn't notice any reception issues when I was home. I know BMW shipped a lot of E39 5er's with antenna wiring in the a-pillars that either had a break in it or had fallen and so it wasn't routed up. I wonder if anybody has a schematic for the antenna of this car and if it's possible that the issue is something simple.

SRT FM reception is very poor, alright.

When pushing "seek", the radio jumps only to the next number with static, cycling almost every number, but returning only static. I have to manually rotate the tuner button to get to a real channel in a reasonable length of time, but even after saving the local channels as presets, the reception in all of them is incredibly poor, worse than a 95 Corsica:684: .

I thought that Chrysler might have used a tuner with poor reception stats (decible femtowatts? SNR?) in order to sell more satellite accounts, but it really does act like a radio with no antenna.

I'll check the forum for more on that topic..

The AM radio reception on my 300C stinks, wish it could be corrected in some manner too. Must be because of no external antenna?

Are any of you guys running with a tinted rear window? IF so, a non metalic film should've been used or it will interfere with radio reception. A bunch of us in the early days of the forum dealt with this. My tint is non-metallic based and I haven't had any problems. I have a C not an SRT-8 but I know a lot of members went through this problem.
