I Have Been Testing An Upgraded Torque Converter The Last Few Days. Its A Modded Stock Unit With Rebuilt Stators And A Few Other Tweaks. The Stall Flashes About 500 Rpm Higher Than Stock. Seat Of The Pants Performance Feels Noticable. But No Track Times. I Am Going To Guess That This Upgrade Is A Lot Like A Gear Change In That You May Not See Any Real Difference At The Track As It Is Likely To Cause More Tire Spin. But The Seat Of The Pants Feel Is Noticeable.

We Do Have One Core Converter Here. And This Would Have To Be Done On Either A Core Exchange Basis Or You Send Us Your Converter. The Cost Would Be $995 Plus Shipping. If You Try It And Dont Think Its Worth It Then We Will Take It Back And Give You A Full Refund No Questions Asked.

Right Now We Can Produce Maybe One Of These A Week.

John:

Do you have any idea what the stall is now "stock"?
It's been my feeling all along that the extreme bottom end of these motors is a little light on the torque. (1500-2500 rpm) My feeling is for streetability at these rpm levels - a higher stall would really help when your in 2nd or 3rd gear at these rpm's and want to accelerate without having to mash to the floor and downshifting.

What are your feelings on this scenario(BTW - I also have an '04 E55, which is why I'm missing that extreme low end tq in the SRT8!)

Please let us know how badly if effects the gas milage and how much hotter the Transmission runs (do we have a tranny temp setting?) A convertor is an easy way to pick up alot of speed, but you have to give to get.
