Hey guys,
I just upgraded my LX model and bought a 2006C w/ 80k miles on it. (Bad credit-High Miles).
It has all stock wheels, suspension, etc.

I'm looking to put 20 or 22" Replica SRT8 wheels on it, but before I do that... I want to make sure my suspension is solid and feeling like new. I don't want to lower it, I like the height, I just want it to handle like or close to new.

What are some options that I can replace/repair in order to get this feeling before I put this wheels on???

Thanks so much for the input, I'm a new guy on the block, but my Touring I had before this was super decked out and I loved it... Just wanna do it right this time =)

Well I would replace the struts to the Bilstein ones. Cost about $400 for all four. Next i would replace the sway bar bushings, $25 for 2 at a local dealer, these bushings are notorious for making noise in our cars. Once the car is under lifted for ask your mechanic to check the inner and outer tie rods and any ball joints that need to get replaced. Inner and outer tie rods arent that expensive but when you start getting into ball joints! whew thats gonna be some money.

If your car is RWD buy the following:

(4) Bilstein shocks - front and rear - $400

(2) Sway bar bushings from the dealer - $11each - this is a must. They make a lot of noise when they need replacing

(1) MOOG Part # K620257 - $90.89 Tension sturt Right
(1) MOOG Part # K620258 - $84.79 Tension strut Left

(2) MOOG Part # K200199 - $13.03each Lower control arm bushing left side
(2) MOOG Part # K200200 - $9.88each Lower control arm bushing right side (with flats)

In about 20K miles your tensions strut bushings are going to crack/fail. Buy EP6567 bushings from pedders (@$180);they will last forever. The reason i dont recommend you do that now is that your current tension strut ball joint is probably on its way out (so replacing the new bushing into the old tension strut would be a waste of time) . You can buy the pedders bushing now and repalce it on the new tension strut if you go the money to get both.

This is a great start. There are other things i would change but it all depend on how much you want to invest.
