not to mention if you ever want to sell it you'll have SOME resale value if you buy the "C" to start with. If you buy a V6 and convert it you better like it becasue you'll be stuck with that abortion forever!

hmmmm

no im from the states...texas actuallly.. i just live in italy right now...im buying the car in the states too..i was just wondering because im gonna trade my baby...RX8 because i haave a real baby on the way...i=need a bigger car without the tunnel in the middle..anyways i ask because ive seen used v for 18000 and it just seems cheaper to me at least to pay 5-6 thousand for a fron clip to get the motor pull it mod it while its out<< if i want>> then drop it in when i want ... im no tworrried about resale...im gonna have this car for a least 7-10 years...i would do all the work myself ...im good with this shit...i just need to know if a front clip is all that is needed ......no cuting and drilling.. just a pull and drop is the easyest and requires the least amount of added expenses
but thanks for you input... i might just end up going that way

Even if you are capable of doing the swap, I suggest you go by a dealership for a brochure, or check out specs on line and see what else a C has that you would not have with a lower (no offense) trim level. For me, it was a C or nothing.

Dude, I don't care if you're an F1 mechanic/rocket scientist/quantum theorist/hair dresser....sell it, buy a C and save yourself money and more importantly an ass load of time.

I mean, are you really that sentimentally attached to it that it's worth all that trouble?

I've swapped a few motors in cars in my day. Trust me, in this instance it's just NOT worth it.

I doubt if anyone here has done such a swap to give you a straight answer to your question but even if you have the capability I doubt you'd save any money. IF you can get a front clip for $5k or $6k would that also give you the 5 speed transmission?.... how 'bout the wheels?.... rear end? ( I assume the rear end is upgraded in the C but I may be mistaken) and again, there's a lot more to a "C" then JUST the hemi. I would wager that once you are done, you'll have at least as much money invested as what you could buy a "C" for; plus all of your time, headaches, etc. Plus you will not have ANY warranty - - PERIOD - - you can buy a 2005 "C" and get the remainder of the factory warranty... Now all this might be worth it if you could save substantial money, but I guarantee you are not going to. In addition once you have a 300 base with the hemi, the rest of the car is still gonna be a base model. Kind of reminds me of a kid I know that wanted a 5.0 mustang SO bad.... my brother had a really nice one for sale for $3000. The kid thought it was too much so he bought a 4 cyl for $1300.... then bought a donor t-bird 5.0 for another $600..... by the time he got done he had WELL over $4000 invested, and he didn't even have the 5.0 HO, just the grocery hauler 5.0!... Meanwhile the kid that bought my bro's factory 5.0 was driving his......
