Hey all,

I am finishing up the amp install in my 300C, and I’ve searched for an answer to this, but if it’s out there, I’ve missed it. Since the 300 doesn’t have an ACC line, the way my shop wired it the car has to be in RUN for it to turn on. I want it to work with the ignition in ACC, so it has been recommended here that you place a mini fuse tap in fuse 18 of the rear distribution block to wire to the amplifier remote on/off.

Here’s the problem: That is a 20A fuse, and all of the fuse taps I have seen state a 10A max. Anyone know of one that supports 20A-30A or another way to easily run this additional line?

Thanks!

Hey vette. I used the mini fuse tap in the trunk on fuse 18. I searched high and low at the autoparts stores and retail stores in my area (Autozone, Schucks, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc) but could not find. I finally had the brilliant (not really brilliant) idea to check with the local custom stereo shop. They had them by the box full and just gave me one. Just to be clear, we're not talking about the fancy ones that have sell at autozone for $8-$12. This is like 15 cents worth of copper.

I was told that radio shack may carry them.

Here's another visual
