So last year I replaced the t stat on my 06 C and two days ago I noticed it has developed a leak at the housing so I ordered a mishimoto 180 stat got it apart and the gasket surface on the timing cover/block side is pitted so badly on the bottom and side of the gasket surface why the leak started wasnt like that last year had to replace the original stat because it was stuck open dont really want to spend 400 bucks and have to pull the everything apart because it's made onto the timing cover. And I really dont think rtv will seal it.. any solutions anyone else experience this problem the car only has 70k miles on it and I flushed and put all new oem mopar coolant in it with distilled water..

clean it up ,and use the permatex gasket sealer !! that's what it's for. oh and add new coolant !! the old stuff is probably the culprit ,that caused the pits !!!!!
