Any one know the top speed of the 06 300C? Hot Rod mag has small news flash of 170 on autobahn for SRT8.I thought i heard they removed the 118 speed limiter for 06.

well my '05 "C" will do just shy of 130....looks like 130 on the speedo but I've heard it's governed at 126 or 129..... I'm pretty sure the '06 is the same. My '05 will definitely pull strongly right past 118. The SRT8 is ungoverned. Chrysler claims 165 - 170 and Car and Driver got 173 on GPS. I can tell you that my Dad's SRT8 is still pulling STRONG at 140..... beyond that I can't say first hand.

If you can get rid of the limiter the 300C will easily go 145.
I got the Charger with the performance group package which raises the speed limiter to 145. I have hit it once and it is still pulling when I got there. I think you could get to 150 easy.

Kevin, you are correct, the C is governed at 126. I don't know if the '06's are any different, I doubt it. I've only had mine up to about 110, that was on the Grapevine, when I went to Palm Springs in Sept.
I'm sure that there are some other '06 owners, who can tell you. Surely someone has hit it.

What part of Montana ??... By the way I remember a period in the 90's when Montana went back to the "Reasonable & Prudent" daytime speed limit too...wish they still had that. Although the state trooper that caught me doing 95 on I-15 near Dillon at ( at 2 AM !!) was not amused.

The 300C with the speed limiter off (e.g. Mexico) will top out at 155-156 m.p.h.
Mine hits 156-157 mph every time effortlessly and I have a video clip on my PC of going from around 100 mph all the way to 157 mph ( says 257 kph on my speedo ) , but I live outside USA in KUWAIT with Gulf specs... :smoker:

It's both resettable and removable with the starscan unit. I'm just waiting for better rubber.

The Euro C's routinely hit their 155 limit. Reports of 160 with the limiter removed are out there.

My C is just getting going with it hits the 127 mph limit the US cars have set, precisely 3 mph short of our tire limit speed to make the lawyers happy.

I'm shooting for, and betting on, 160. I'll let you know either way.

Maybe I'll stop at the German dealer next week to see if he will do this for me.

My 05 300c with rebuilt engine got to 154mph and didn't seem like it wanted to stop gaining speed at all. Then again my rebuilt engine might have bigger pistons that stock but I do not know. 154mpg effortlessly on mine.

Yes, I'm sure that your teenaged 300 with it's huge, massive pistons that are in no way a metaphor for anything, is not only capable of 154 MPH, but evidently 154 MPG as well. Good for you.

But you might want to start a new thread to brag about your reckless speeding, because this one is fifteen years old.

Keep going. This thread would be a goldmine for law enforcement or opposing counsel in a lawsuit in the event you ever kill or injure someone while speeding recklessly with your great big pistons, that, once again, I am sure are in no way a metaphor for anything.

Incidentally, do you communicate like that in real life? Do you laugh out loud, speak a two-word sentence, and then laugh out loud again? Like, "Ha ha ha...cry much? Ha ha ha!"

Evidently you can't even get through your name without laughing. Must be tiring.

Many years ago a guy over on one of the LX forums allegedly had his slightly modified early 300C up to 170 mph. I am positive our Hemi's have the capability to make the higher speeds but, as said back in 2005 (and still true today), if you're going to play around like this, make sure you have the appropriate speed rated tires and they are in good shape and properly aired up.Too fast for me, thanks.
