Hello All,
I just purchased my car last night and I am probably doing something wrong but I am having trouble with the display. When I touch an icon it might work once but after that you have to wait several minutes for it to accept another command. I searched several forums and didn't find anything on it. HELP...

Hi Dan,

Did you purchase your 300 from a Chrysler dealership? Would you have a chance to take it back to them, since you just got it, and have them take a look at it?

Mine (2013) reacts pretty much as fast as I can touch the icons. Agree with the above if you bought from any kind of dealer get it back to them ASAP

I purchased my car from a private party so no warranty is in effect. Do you think that pulling the fuse for the screen and putting it back in would help? If so do you have any idea which one and where it would be located?

Many aftermarket 'catback' systems drone on these cars at highway speeds. The factory system was tuned to avoid it, by using resonators at the rear just before the tips.

The only aftermarket system I've heard of that avoids this is by Corsa, which is specifically designed to suppress it- that, or re-fit the factory system. The only other thing I can suggest is that you get a Diablosport tuner and use it to turn off the MDS gas saving system (which shuts down 4 cylinders at highway speeds.....thats what causes the drone). If you were intending to give the car a little more 'oomph' you'd need the Diablosport tuner anyway

UPDATE: I took it to the dealer yesterday and they said the screen was toast. $949 for the part and $125 labor. When I left and was driving home I wiped off the screen (Dust) and it started working. Now it will work but occasionally I have to "Wipe" it.

My wife's town and country had screen troubles like those you described. Our rep at the dealership walked from his desk with a baby wipe, gave the screen a quick wipe and told her to have a nice day.

It would have been nice if it was just a cleaning issue. I cleaned it several times to no avail.

I did find a replacement screen online for $319 and installed it myself in less than 30 minutes.

If you want the vendor PM me. I'm not sure how this particular forum works with supporting vendors.

That is great to know we can replace this ourselves if needed but the touch screen works fine now that the wife knows it doesn't like makeup or hand lotion.

My 2015 300C 8.4 uconnect touchscreen does not hit on the right spot. usually "misses" the touch point by 1" in any direction. For instance: touch nav app and it highlights phone app next to it and brings up the phone screen. very sporadic. cleaning did not help. pulled and replaced fuse and did not help. was able to reset to factory settings and that did not help. manual controls all work on dash and on steering wheel. Software updated over the air sometime earlier this year and all was well. this weirdness just started happening one morning for no apparent reason. anyone share this experience?

Hi Stelvis,

Are you still experiencing this concern after starting up your vehicle today? If so, you may want to visit a certified dealership to have this looked into. If you decide to set an appointment and need further assistance, please PM us.

Thank you!

Thanks Jennifer, but I was looking for a cause rather than a cure. I know the cure will be to replace parts until the problem goes away. I am more looking at preventing it from happening again once it is replaced.

I haven't looked for it and I'm fairly certain you have but in case. Is there a screen alignment function like some other electronics an object shows up at several locations on the screen and you have to touch it each time?

Just a "Reset to Factory Settings" option. No "screen Calibration" choices. Checked and latest Software update is 17.11.07
and that is good. One is not allowed to speak to a service technician at the dealer; only to the service rep who has the pat answer of," You will have to bring it in". One would think that a simple "yes or no" to the question of "have you heard of this ever happening before?" would be available. I have only experienced this touchscreen problem with video poker machines and a few slot machines in casinos. Maybe a slot tech will tell me the cause. Maybe Harman Kardon can answer the question. I'll keep calling dealer service centers until someone says, " yeah.. we heard of that and "this" is what fixed it".

It sounds like an issue with the screen itself not the software, if it were me I'd just replace the screen and be done with it. Just MHO.

Follow-up for anyone who cares

1.) simultaneously hold down the red up / blue down arrows on the analog climate control panel along with the browse/enter button on the radio for 5 seconds while the car is running.

2.) a calibration screen will appear on the touch screen showing a small target with instructions.

3.) place your fingertip accurately on the target until the target moves position. Then do the same thing two more times and voila! screen reboots to home and it is fixed. no idea what caused the screen to become "un-calibrated" for touch but it did occur (a short time) post-satellite software update.

I learned this from a Hellcat owner with the same radio.
