A few months ago I brought in my 05 3ooc for service since the tranny was making a grinding noise and shuddering. They said it was some seal that they had to fix that allowed water to get into it. Fixed it, done. Everything was fine until we just had/have about 4 days of continuous rain here in NJ. Same prob arose. Took it in yesterday.

Just got the call. They confirmed what I thought was the problem, which was the same as a few months ago. Water in the tranny. They contacted Chrysler, whom instructed them to pull the tranny and disassemble it. Whats even better, is my rental from them is a neon  .

Has anyone had experience with this? If so, what was the outcome? Im predicting a new tranny. And even more important, what are the chances of me getting something for free from Chrysler and how do I go about it? Car's not even a year old and the tranny is crapping up. I actually hope they do replace it since I dont know what kind of damage water in there could do.

After the constant rain here in NJ, my C has developed a moaning noise at slow speed maneuvers. I thought it was the power steering pump. Dealer said it was alternator and replaced it. I have a brand new alternator AND a moaning noise. There is a new TSB 21-019-05 entitled transfer case shudder that I am going to demand be done to my car.
And when will the rain stop?

Sounds SOOooo familiar...
Mine did the same at 1780 miles (March'05)...
Did the flushing, several times I might add, didn't help.
Regional Rep. authorized NEW transmission.
Have 7500 miles now,not a bit of trouble.

I have a 2006 300c and the same thing has happened to me they towed it in and and flushed the tranny twice and put a new filter on it the next morning it did the same thing again now it's going to be like three weeks before I can get it back the only thing nice is I work for the dealership and can drive anything I want but I just want my C back

umm....if your car was built in April '04 good luck finding the transfer case  It was around December '04 before they even built any AWD 300's, wasn't it?

Got the 300 back last Friday. Runs great. This week will be the test if the new tranny is improved. 50mph winds and crazy rain.

Basically, they said Chrysler told them to pull the tranny, take it totally apart to see whats up, then put in a brand new one. Not much more info on it. Oh well. Only took a week and a few days but Im still writing Chrysler. I guess I lucked out with the quick swap.
