I took the car in today to have the recent TSB regarding WOT hesitation flashed. I was just told that the transmission control module would not accept the reprogram. They are waiting to hear back from Chrysler. Has anyone else run into this problem?

I had this done and no problems on mine, but I have been told that the Dodge/Chrysler system for reflashing a module requires a bit of work. It isn't as easy as some other makes and requires that the tech pays close attention to the set up. Again, this was just passed along to me and I don't know if it is true. If so, maybe this is part of it.

here's another FYI

I was downshifting it from drive to either second or third in the autostick...
and the darn thing hung up in no mans land and revved twice as my foot was on the gas then off and on again all the while the car was in D and it was down in the autostick section of the shift gate...
so that was REALLY fun...
and no I didn't upshift it in the shiftgate to N guys...
geez...
so I and the service manager will be looking at that...

hammertime...

I did drive over to the dealer smiling...
and drove back to the office smiling again...
regardless of the little things that have come up that might be huge...
they'll handle it...
the advantage I have is being in S. Calif. vs. B.C.
parts seem to be a little more prevalent here than there...
hang in there...
and let us know how big your smile is when you get her back underneath you...

When they go to flash any controller on your car it knows ahead of time if it can and should even flash the controller. Something new is that you can flash the controller over and over again with the same code. It used to only push a flash if the controller was behind.

I picked up the car today. It did not accept the reprogram. I was told Chrysler is having this problem with quite a few SRT cars. The repair is to replace the Transmission control module. However, since this has become such a common problem (the module not accepting the reprogram) the module is on back order. I've been told it will take 2 to 4 weeks for the part to come in. Once it comes in, I'll have it installed.

I had mine flashed yesterday and no problems that I know of. I havn't really had a chance to verify that the problem is resolved. They refused to do any of the other TSB's. Apparently, if they can't duplicate the TSB problems, they won't fix them.

For the life of me I don't know why the dealerships won't do all the TSB flash updates if you ask them. How much time could it possibly take? After the dealers make the sale it's a whole different ball game.

Exact same issue and exact same diagnosis. I am also waiting.

The WOT problem that was to be corrected by the TSB has been fixed. The new TCM has the changes programmed into it. I have pushed the car with my foot to the floor, there is no more hesitation or as some people have described it, a hiccup.
