I know this has been talked about a few times but I never saw anyone post a picture of the inside of the trunk lid. I always wondered why everyone wanted to install some sort of pull down until I noticed that the C has a liner. In my Touring, the trunk lid is bare, so there are holes perfect for closing the trunk. I'm guessing this liner is another thing left out to cut costs?

On the subject of trunk handles, and this goes for any version, I've found it terribly easy to just put a few fingers on the latch housing and push downward. And by the time your hands come off the trunk has enough momentum to close. Way easier than a pull or a handle on the inside, and FREE!

I totally agree....not having pull handles on a car like these is just friken ridicules. My old Durango had them for Gods sake.

I must have gotten a early 06 because it doesn't have them :fing26: DCX

I ordered a handle, then I couldn't find a good place to mount it.

Therefore, I just left it stock. No handle.

Less mess. I wasted 18 bucks, but oh well.

Anybody need a handle...?

It's the one from Wyckoff. (Black leather w/mounting screw).

Here are some pics others have posted.
Maybe these will give you some ideas. The last pic with the grab handle is my car. I really like having a grab handle. Not having a handle/strap is really annoying.

Most of us have installed the strap handle in the small black plastic grommet that holds the trunk liner. It is to the right of the trunk latch. It is shown in the second picture that Joey provided. Just drill a small hole into it and screw in the strap. Before doing so, take a hack saw and trim the two feet on the strap anchor in order for it to fit flush on the grommet. It's very easy as the plastic is soft.

It takes about ten minutes to complete the project.

Okay, I'm a newbie here so please forgive me.

I have a 2006 300 Touring Signature series and also noticed that there was no trunk liner and the plastic closing handle was only on the right side and not the left. I wish the left side hade the plastic grab handle as I have reached up many times and grabed bare metal with my left hand.

After searching here I see that the touring doesn't come with a trunk lid liner and it sounds like if I install the liner it will cover up my grab handle. Is this correct?

If so can I just get a left side plastic insert so I'll have one on the left and the right and forego installing the liner?

Thanks!

scubafrogman - everything you said is correct. I too have a late-year 06 Touring with the right-sided "handle" in the deck lid. Yes, the deck lid liner will cover that. I'm not sure about a left-sided insert/handle, but because I'm a lefty, I took some vinyl tubing from the home store, slit it and wrapped it over the edge of the metal in the left side hole. El cheapo left side handle.

Simple solution!

Instead of a strap, the 300c actually has a perfectly fitting plastic filler handle in the trunk hole next to the emergency handle that comes on some unlined cars. I noticed it when I rented a 300 a few months ago on a trip. This plastic filler works perfectly in my SRT8 by just cutting the liner and inserting the pop-in filler. No screws to drill, and it is stock!

Not that I would do this, but check out that easily pop-in (out) plastic handle on your next rental. (Then go get one from the dealer if you don't aquire one)

They never did put a trunk handle on the 06’s as once was predicted. When I had the Clear Bra put on my car I had the installer cover the back lid so it wouldn’t get messed up from closing it. Works great and not a mark or blemish.

Hello folks

my UK spec has a handle built into the boot (trunk) lining. Do these pictures help anyone ?

Yup that's the plastic insert handle. You guys across the pond have all the extras, in exchange for the higher sticker prices they stick you with (pun intended). From other posts, over here in the U.S., all 2006 300Cs have a felt trunk liner but few have plastic handles, all 300 Tourings (3.5L V6) do not have liner, but all have plastic handles, and somewhere I read that the Limiteds have both left and right plastic handles and the liner... I prefer the pull down strap that I used to have in my Concorde, you can pull down on it without worrying about hurting your hand. I think I'll order one of those along with the cargo net.
