Hi,
I have a 300c 06, and wonder where the turn signal relay is located, and is it same relay for the hazard?

I have changed my rear turn signal bulbs to led's (triton v3), now after some years when I flash to right or left the led just flashes odd, but if I turn the hazards on, they flash normally. The front ones are bulbs and flashes normally. Don't really think both the left and rear led broke down at the same time, therefor I'm asking.

Thanks

Try unplugging those LED bulbs and plugging them back in.
Also, if resistors were added when the LEDs' were installed, check for loose connections.

I fitted a full set of rear smoked LED lights clusters on my touring a couple of years ago and had to fit load equalizers on the indicators, this has something to do with the power load that they use being different to normal bulbs. Mine were supplied with the lights from a custom 300c shop that we all know and love in the UK.

In front I don't use LED just ordinary bulbs. I changed to ordinary bulb on left rear side and had the same problem, so I did not test to replace the right rear side as well.

The turn signal lamps are controlled from the front control module; I don't think newer cars use flasher relays anymore only a fuse to protect the electronics from a short in wiring from the FCM to the turn signal lamps. Maybe the LED'S you had fitted is an unrelated problem to the rapid flashing.

Stupid question but do you have a tow bar fitted. If yes do you have an adapter to alter the number of pins in the electrics. On mine if i forget to take the adapter off the rear bulbs flash twice as fast as the fronts

Yes I have an removable tow bar, have not used it for years, and the electrical adapter is not installed because the tow bar in not fitted, but I will check the electrical connector so it's not packed with ice.

As I understan the FCM is controlling the turn signals, maybe the FCM is bad.
Are this front control module compatible? The only that is different is the numbers marked in red.

The FCM that I found is from an Dodge Magnum, I've read that when replacing the FCM the Pinion Factor must be programed to it, what is that and what does it affect?

Thanks

I do not have a tow bar, but I do recall reading on the forum that there is an internal ground switch that gets corroded and screws things up.

Is it not the same ground for hazard light and turn signal? I only have problem with my turn signals, the hazard works without any problem. But anyway where is this ground switch located, so I might ba able to check that?

Again, I do not have a tow bar and am only reporting what I read here on the forum, which indicated that the ground switch is located within the socket mounted on the hitch that the trailer connector plugs into such that the switch operates automatically. The problem is corrosion within the switch. Sorry but I don't recall the fix, but if I were having the problem I would give it a shot of WD40 and insert/remove the trailer's plug several times to get things cleaned up.

Give it a go!

My plan B, this weekend. Will try the FCM from the Dodge Magnum (the one that I post picture of). Any advice when I try the other FCM?
Disconnect the battery - replace the FCM - connect the battery - start and see what happens.....If it doesn't work, change back to the original....

FCM provides the signal to energise the relay module, the relay is the what you can hear in the car that click clicks everytime when the indicator is on. It should be somewhere behind the dash or worse inbuilt to the binnacle? I remember seeing some modules beneath the glove box, it might be just around there?

Is it the same relay module for the hazard as for the turn signal? I think I heard some click click from the right side of the trunk.

Hi,
Today I replaced the FCM, still the same problem.

I found this relay in the right back fender, it click click when I use the turn signals.
And if I disconnect it, the turn signal does work at all.
Have not found so much about this relay than it has something to do with the towbar.

If you type in the model number, its showing as relay module for towing/hitch. Its very hard to find this item on fleaybay, closest I got is

ECS module 5C021 [5C021] - €39.93 : Trekhaken Specialist nederland, Gekeurde trekhaken voor ieder type auto voor de laagste prijs!

http://adamexczesci.com/product-pol-89525-LEXUS-RX-300-2001r-MODUL-STEROWNIK-5C021-V1.html

NUEVO CHRYSLER C2 MODULE 5C021-V1 5C021V - CHRYSLER C2 MODULE 5C021-V1 5C021V
Switchboard hitch for trailer / Jeep Cherokee Chrysler 300 c ECS C2 Module 5C021-V1 5C021V1

If your not using the tow bar facility, I reckon you should remove this foreign part and its associated wiring from the factory wiring, and return the factory loom connection to how they were. If that doesn't resolve the problem, I still reckon the factory relay module is somewhere behind the dash. Its just a matter of locating???
