Well, I have ordered a new cellular phone through my service provider and it is listed on Chrysler's website as compatible with the U-connect feature(the reason I decided to do this). I was wondering what comments you may have about the system operation and such. It appears that there is some set-up time required, of which I have plenty, and then it appears to offer very nice and completely hands-free ability while in the car.

Our Escalade had the GM On-Star system and for some reason it could never get the number 5 or 9 correct when I tried using the dial system. I would say 5 as clear as I could and it would give me a number other than 5, same with the 9. I don't really have an accent or such, raised in Colorado, but got pretty frustrated with that system over time(GM wouldn't fix it, they attempted to 'reset' the system once by going through the voice recognition, after that failed they just dropped attempts to help, which may be one of the reasons I own several DCX products....:D)

I changed phones with Verizon when I got the 300C so as to be able to use the UConnect feature. the phone is a Motorola V710, the only one (at the time) that Verizon offered with Bluetooth. It has a camera and GPS capability (I think, I only use it as a phone).Setup time to make it work with UConnect) was no big deal. It has had one recurring intermittent problem recognizing one certain name, dialing another instead. It might be related to ambient noise. Other than that it works great.

This is good to hear. We have Moto V-551s on the way and they are listed to work with the system as well. My wife likes to call me when I am driving it seems, so this system should be a real advantage to having to find the phone, pull over, and then talk to her....

Seems that these phones will work well. They are available from cdn service providers.

But.. if there happens to be a techno wiz on the forum I would sure apprciate the heads up on getting super connected.

I have a laptop that has bluetooth and i was wondering if anyone has tried a treo or blackberry and done anything between phone - ucconnect - and other computer programs, PDA's, and laptops.

Below is a description of a $17 connector between phone and computer to access internet.

With Mobile Connection Manager Bluetooth Edition, easily connect your Bluetooth compatible phone to your PC with a simple step-by-step guide on how to, find, pair and authenticate the connection between both devices.

Mobile Connection Manager Bluetooth Edition facilitates the process of configuring and managing your wireless Bluetooth phone connections so you can easily connect your phone and PC.

Mobile Connection Manager Bluetooth Edition also allows you to instantly connect to the Internet wherever you are. It makes it easy for you to connect to any wireless network type by automatically detecting the best wireless network available, so you can always get the best Internet access.

Also discover Mobile PhoneTools, a great solution to manage your connection as well as improve your wireless communication (SMS, MMS, fax, email) while taking advantage of true synchronization and real multimedia capabilities, including image and sound editing and melodies transfer.

So if anyone has any ideas, I would rather know the possibilities before just simply picking up a good phone as those mentioned above.

White Diamond, I too have the Motorola 710's (wife & I). I have found that it may have trouble understanding me, and trying to dial the wrong person, if I have the sunroof open, other than that, works great.
The set-up is no big deal you have to go through a phone pairing sequence that takes some couple of minutes.
The system IS NOT totally hands free. You will have to touch the UConnect button on the rearview mirror to answer, or make a call. Other than that it IS hands free.

I just purchased the V551 to use in my SRT8 and it works great. I'm very happy with it.

My impressions so far. The audio coming into the car is perfect. I've been told that I sound like I'm speaking in a can when I am using u-connect, but sounds clear. I havn't tried adjusting the speaker which others have done. I'll have to put my wife in the Silver Bullet and call her and see how it sounds. However, she may not come back. :)

Well if we really want to air it out... Karma is something else. When I went to buy the Razr it was $199. I was laughing to myself at all these people who paid $400 for it. This past Sunday they were all over the ads for $99. Argghhhh!

OK, I have a question that I want to pose to the dealer, but maybe you guys/gals have got it.
I have the UConnect, works great. I have 2) Motorola 710's.
What I want to know, is will the system monitor 2 phones at once? If my wife and I are in the car w/both of our phones, will the system link-up and monitor both phones?
I know that you have to set a priority, and mine happens to be set to 1, hers to 2.
But if we are both in the car, and her phone rings will the UConnect take it?

My understanding is that the system needs the priority to determine who's phone will be used for outgoing calls. When more than 1 phone are in the vehicle, it is also my understanding that the system is monitoring them and if one receives a call, the system will prompt for action.

I set our V-551s up last night and it was simple. So far, all voice data is correctly heard. I will try some calls with the system today and tomorrow to see how it works out while in the car(it was too late to call buddies last night).

Oh yeah, my phone got priority 1 and she got 2 :D :D
