Hey Guys,

Are there any Verizon wireless subscribers out there using the bluetooth function on our 300? What phone do you use?

I talked to a guy at the Verizon booth and he said that his recommendation for choosing a phone would be to start with finding which ones are supported by our Bluetooth. Supposedly, Verizon in their infinite wisdom, decided to limit the connectibility of their phones to Bluetooth devices.

Anyone hear the same? Any experiences with this... guidance?

I use the Motorola V710 Phone with UConnect and it works great. Its true there is no OBEX support on Verizon's bluetooth implementation, but the Uconnect doesn't support it anyway AFAIK.

I have the Motorola V551 and it works great with the U connect. My service is through Cingular.

I have the Moto V-710. It doesn"t tell you when you have e-mails,or what charge state the battery is in on the u connect screen. I keep a car charger.

I am on verizon and use a treo 650 smartphone and don't have a problem other than the battery and signal level. Bluetoohth is great and glad I got Uconnect.

If you upgrade your software on the V710 it shows you the battery, signal strength, Vmail, etc. !! Until i upgraded i also did not see those icons, but after the upgrade they worked. Go into any VZW Corporate store and tell them you want your software upgraded for this reason. THey will do it at no charge. Good luck!

Or with a little hunting on the internet and a usb cable, you can flash it yourself. Of course if you ruin your phone, that would really stink (I was impatient and flashed my V710 months before a verizon store would do it).

Go with the new e815. It's basically an updated v710. Works great with uConnect.

I don't have the Nav unit so I can't tell you. But it works great with my uConnect. Also there is a hack out there to enable OBEX. Now uConnect does not take advantage of this but say your wifes car does then all your contacts should work right off the phone thru the hands free.

They are actually going to be phasing out the 710 eventually. I got the 710 and heard about the 815 coming out so I returned it. I have used both and both worked equally well.
