What's the widest tire someone has fit on the stock 20 inch rim? I figure a 275mm 0r 295mm (40 series) tire should fill out the rear nicely while you're limited to a 255/40r20 on the front end.

come to think of it...
that creates another question...

HA! .... Yeah, I'm surprised I'm not yet. That ESP sure does a good job!

Since the AS's are all weather tires, I might just keep them for the winter, and then install some Ultra High Performance tires....275 in back, 255 in front.

I do REALLY hope Nitto of BFG starts making some drag radials in 20's....I'd love to be the first to break 12.9 with a stock motor. :D

Be aware on the 06 models with the tire monitor sensors that if it is like my c5 corvette if you go much outside of stock diamater it will throw a code for the wheels and eventually go to close loop if you don't correct it.

Hankook makes a pretty good tire “VENTUS”, have them on my F150 SVT,
don’t know if they make the size.
Hankook surely does make that size, I have them on my C all around. 275/40/20 Ventus ST RH06 (W) rated tire. The tire is as smooth as the OEM without the floaty feel.

Front?

I've seen 275's in the rear and they look awesome. I know the front diameter is limited but has anyone tried a 275/40R20 (28.6 inch diameter)? You could run the same combo all the way around for easy rotations.

No problems

I have only run the 275's in the rear, I maintained the stock All Season 245/45 Gooyears in front.
I have had no issues. I re-used the stems for the air pressure monitoring system. The system accurately reflects the correct pressure.
I have not had any trouble codes from the ECM. I did have to try several tire places that could actually mount 20's.
BTW, your can still 'break loose' the 275 Pirelli's without much trouble.
