I got 5x114.3 Strada Venti's and i was having vibration problems due to the wheel no fitting around the hub. I put adapters on the front and that fixed my problem. Had to shave studs down just a bit, but i am riding smooth now
The first step is a perfect hub fit. The new wheel should have a 71.5mm hub. If not then you need centering rings to reduce a larger hub size down to 71.5mm? Never hear of needing to shave studs. Did you remove the couple clips around studs?

I am new at this so any advice is welcome. So you are saying all i need are some hub centric rings?

Rarely is vibration caused by bolt pattern. If the wheel is not centered that can cause vibtion. Bolts are mainly to used to afix, fasten or tighten the wheel to the hub however, the center bore and the hub must be 71.5 in order to center the wheel. If the wheel is not centered it will move around. If the aftermart wheel does not have a center bore of 71.5 and it is larger you must install hub centering rings to make an exact fit.

I have noticed several sites that have wheels listed at 114.3 for our cars. It sucks that the 300c is 115 b/c the wheels I am in love with are the MRR HR-6's and only come 114.3. So I will most likely not get rims for my car unless the rims that were on the 300c at the NY Auto Show are made.

:arms:Good thread EVERYONE. This is why I am a member. I think this topic was explored from every possible viewpoint, and accurately assesed. Sorry, I broke into a sweat a few times while reading, like a good novel, had to post. I am well versed on this issue, but still read every post. Great job everybody!

.7mm divided by two is .35mm. Duh, but this is how much a lug stud would have to "bend" in order to be properly seated in the conical seat. However, this is if the lugs were straight across from each other like in a 4-lug or 8-lug wheel. With a 5-lug wheel, the studs are off a few degrees from eachother, the "bend" would most likely be a hair less than .35mm

I don't know if you noticed, but the conical seat has at ~1mm clearance between it and the stud. .35mm is well within the tolerances.

We are talking about a bolt circle here so using the 114.3 wheels would cause the bolts to be bent inward exactly 0.35 mm. In my opinion, this would introduce considerable stress in the lugs. 0.35 mm doesn't sound like much but if you have done any precision machining, it is a huge difference. So if you are just boulevard cruising you may get away with using the 114.3's but if you drive your car fast or hard, you would be crazy to trust "close is good enough".

I hope some wheel experts here can answer your question. You should have posted your question prior to ordering. I hope you did not waste your money. Good Luck.

I believe the 300c is a 18 to 20 mm offset, with that in mind it will push your wheel/rim combo out ,now it all depends on how big a tire your going with ? on the back it should not be a problem unless your lowered ,and on the front it may be a turning issue and lowered.

Well I've had the same thing in the past with a grand am gt where I ordered 5x114.3 and used hubcentric rings and they worked fine. So I am planning on doing the same with the ruff racing 5x114.3 that I ordered for my 05 300c awd.
